Wright State Celina/Celina YMCA is sponsoring a winter fastpitch pitching program. Tracy Riepenhoff-Coffman ( All- State pitcher, 4 year letter winner At Toledo, 6 years Div I pitching coach at Stetson and University of Central Flordia) will conduct 4 Sunday clinics that will be followed up with weekly ( Sun.) throwing sessions to reinforce what Tracy has taught. Check out Tracys bio and clinic info at web.mac.com/triepenhoff.com 0r riep@wcoil.com. Limited enrollment.

Why can't you learn to pitch in one day? I've seen pitching coaches mess a kid up in a matter of hours. It should work both way, right?;&

I've seen one of my latest 10u's improve 8mph and 50+% in 2 one hour lessons (she WAS a clinic learner). Unique case and I like your post about messing them up in up in a matter of hours.

Thanks for your reply. Gotta luv it. I wouldn't believe it either until seeing it myself. The girl works hard and these results will only happen and with the younger ones that have 'it'. Naturally she has quickly hit a plateau.

I never would have thought a 10u could throw 52-55 until this past summer either. Freaks...

Lester,

We played Static last year, and actually watched the 10s several times and even 5 games one weekend in late July. We saw 3-4 different Static 10u pitchers in that tourney you won.

Didn't see anyone throwing over 42-45 MPH. Might want to check your gun.

Well me either. I faced 50+, didn't have 50+ and didn't need it. Just making a comment about some outstanding talent. Never claimed to have it. Maybe I didn't make it clear, my bad.

I'm sure giving the "before and after" in my original story isn't helping me much...

In my world (clearly confusing), each 1 hour lesson "should";) come with 3-5 days of pitching in your beloved basement, local gym, backyard whatever... so, filling in some blanks I should have said that each of the 1 hour lessons in my original comment also came with this amount of training. Sooo, she threw for 2 weeks, had two lessons, and a total of 10+ hours of throwing time with the lessons to continually work her mechanics and her results showed her ability to go from 31-33 mph to 38-42 mph. Her accuracy went from 5-6 of 10 pitches either wild or not close and only 1 or 2 in the strike zone to 5-7 pitches being in or near the strike zone. Let me tell you, this lil' girl worked hard for those results and the rest is my "unclear story". She of course is only 10 and this improvement was incredible for a 2 week period. Slow and steady progress from there... y'all know the drill from there.
