Question for Blue

Situation: Team A player bunted the ball, first base umpire yelled Dead Ball (reason saying ball hit the runner) as she was running to first base. When Dead Ball was yelled, Team B did not bother to field the ball. Team A coach asked the home plate umpire for help. Home plate umpire over ruled the first base umpire and said the ball didn't hit the runner. So the end result was the runner was awarded first base. Was this handled correctly? Should it have been a no pitch because it was incorrectly called a Dead Ball which caused Team B to not attempt a play?

I'm gonna guess the call was wrong. Once blue said dead ball the play was over and it could only be no pitch..... Let's see if I'm right or wrong

dead ball play is over, their was a pitch so there can not be a no pitch call, the ball was bunted so therefor it is a foul ball or strike to the batter..

Dead ball, foul ball is what the field ump ruled so stike and dead ball. Basically treat it like any old foul ball.

This is one of those times the umps could decide a DO--do over-- is the right thing to do. It would be a rare call but it seems this is the fair thing to do for this scenario.
