Great to see such impressive results from the Ohio teams at the granddaddy of nationals. Lots of karma being sent your way from the teams representing Ohio at the regional nat'ls out here in Sterling.

Doom 95 loses to Hunstville Sharks 1-0.

The girls went 3-2, amazing job for a young team. All three wins were the come from behind type.

We were probably the smallest team here but they never played scared.

I am proud of my girls, and I love every one of them.

Our success this season was the result of being surrounded by great girls, great parents, and my great assistants.

Great job to Doug and all the Lady Doomers.

You did Ohio proud as an all 13u team.

From the Laser Silver 40 family (you know, that goofy catcher).

Slammers lost 8-2 to some California team. They went to the losers bracket and won a game there and it looks like they were to play another 2 games after that to make it to Sunday. Hope they can hold on. It would be nice to have an Ohio team win it.

Slammers were eliminated tonight according to ASA brackets. Great run though. It looks like they finished in the top 8 or 10. A nice representation for Ohio softball.

Nice job by all Ohio teams, grueling tournament against the strongest collection of talent in ANY tournament anywhere. Weather delays don't help, even though everyone has to deal with it.

Nice job Ohio ladies!!

P.S. - Doom95, you get another crack at it next year - WIN IT!! Nice job for a '95 team :)

Thanks Pickman,

The Doom Crew is already thinking about next year, and we are pumped. It was a great experience for me as a coach, it only took getting several girls thrown out on the bases before I figured out we are playing on a whole different level. The list has been made on what we need to work on to get ready for 2010.

Great job by the Slammers, I watched them play every oppurtunity possible even if it meant getting up early to drive 40 minutes too watch them for an hour, and then getting back in the car for another 40 minute drive back to the hotel drive to get ready for our game.

Slow start as Slammers did not play well in an 8-2 loss to Corona Eliminators.

Bounced back for a 2-1 win vs. Corona Angels - Smith.

Ended the run with a 4-2 loss to Ok Force.

Personally, I couldn't be prouder of the girls for putting aside the destraction, playing some of their best ball to date, and making a deep run to finish tied for 7th out of 122 of the best.

Amen, some of my best memories of ASA Nationals, and other distant tournaments as well, is the intensity, and the camaraderie from Ohio teams when they are far from home and "against the world".

Heated (even hated rivals) can become fans and supporters for each other during their down time. Seen it happen a lot, have seen it really lift a team, and teach some life lessons (even if accidentally, lol) ... all that changes once back home and the Ump says "play ball", of course, though. :D

Fun distraction and energy release rooting for the other local teams as well, when you have down time, ... plus you "know" that the karma is good .... ahem, but, who really believes in superstition?? ..... ;&

Nice job Ohio!!
