Thanks Pickman,
The Doom Crew is already thinking about next year, and we are pumped. It was a great experience for me as a coach, it only took getting several girls thrown out on the bases before I figured out we are playing on a whole different level. The list has been made on what we need to work on to get ready for 2010.
Great job by the Slammers, I watched them play every oppurtunity possible even if it meant getting up early to drive 40 minutes too watch them for an hour, and then getting back in the car for another 40 minute drive back to the hotel drive to get ready for our game.
Amen, some of my best memories of ASA Nationals, and other distant tournaments as well, is the intensity, and the camaraderie from Ohio teams when they are far from home and "against the world".
Heated (even hated rivals) can become fans and supporters for each other during their down time. Seen it happen a lot, have seen it really lift a team, and teach some life lessons (even if accidentally, lol) ... all that changes once back home and the Ump says "play ball", of course, though.
Fun distraction and energy release rooting for the other local teams as well, when you have down time, ... plus you "know" that the karma is good .... ahem, but, who really believes in superstition?? ..... ;&
Nice job Ohio!!
