Dan, nice response to 444444. I lived on the west coast for many years and trust me when I say very few if any have heard of an organization called the Ohio Slammerz. Personally I had only heard of a couple of organizations myself from the Buckeye state before moving here. There are also a couple of organizations from Illinois and Indiana that are held in high esteem out west.

444--John --have to say it's sad that college recruiters or softball gurus's would "only" follow the career's of what was a great team --but they were not the only horse in town so to speak . They went 0-2 VS Laser Red last year (same age group) , both games hotly contested and well played I'd guess --not some meaningless pool play game or indoor game in January. Both were at a high profile tourney.

I guess my point is there are many talented players/teams in ohio. The Slammers were indeed GREAT , but so are a handful of other elite ohio teams (Elyria sundogs laser red ) . Much of the hype was well deserved , but don't overlook others that were right close with them.

MD

Does anyone know what tourney hosted those two Lasers Red v. Slammers games?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yes, the Doom Spring Madness is going to be a fine tournament.

However, it was at GAPSS where Lasers Red v Slammers - 'The Tango at the Tangy' took place not just once but twice.

'Tango at the Tangy' - I just came up with that on the fly. Pretty good huh?

Should be similar match-ups in the combined 16u/18u bracket and the new format.

Trying to turn the thread into something productive.

Ron Poole Team were well known out west. He would pack them up and Fly to the left coast to play the best teams he could find.

At that time the only way he could do that was by Flying them out West every week-end.

God Bless
