Ohio Ice Black 16U is looking forward to the tournament in 2011. It was a great tournament with solid competition and lots of college coaches walking around.

Hard to believe it was a first year tournament.

Keep up the good work, I hear good things about teams and coaches already.

Sapphires 16u is looking forward to attending. Tough to break some old habits and traditions that have been good to us, but this tournemnt will surely be a classic over time, if not already. Heard great reviews regarding last year ... from college coaches, a good thing!

10u Thunder Elite is looking forward to attending again. Hopefully the out of state teams( Indiana Xtreme, Center Grove and Team Michigan) will be back. No such thing as an easy game in this tournament.

We had a coach ask this question:

What are you guys planning to do this year regarding eligibility of college players in the event. I know last year there were several college players playing but as we are still awaiting a final ruling from ASA on college players in the 18U division I wasn't sure what you guys were planning on doing. I do have a few college players on my roster this year and although they don't need the exposure, I still do have a few younger players that do need it.

Age eligibility is the only requirement to enter just like previous years.

Great question and Thank you.

The deadline is approaching fast December 5th, we have surpassed registrations for this time last year, the 16u group is especially impressive. I was at the UK (Kentucky) camp yesterday and Coach Lawson has been to 2 Laser tourneys and has a Laser on her team now (Annie Rowlands) and we look forward to seeing her at our Showcase.

I believe UK actually has two former Lasers on the current roster, Annie and Kara Dill.

She did play with Wolfpack but I believe was a Laser from about 8 until she was 15 or 16

We have had many calls an concerns about seeding into elimination last year for example:

Last year, all teams in an age group were put in a group and ranked from first to last and paired up for their first game. For example 1 would play 32, 2 vs. 31, 3 vs. 30, 4 vs. 29, etc.

This year it will be more like Pool A - 1 vs. Pool B - 4, Pool A - 2 vs. Pool B - 3, Pool C - 1 vs. Pool D - 4, etc. We and you will know where you will be playing as you finish pool play.

Thanks for your questions, Tony

This is good for planning purposes for sure. We didnt find out when and where we were playing 1st round elimination game till almost 10pm last year. As far as crossing over pools for elimination play: I prefer seeding the teams 1-12 or however many teams top to bottom, but it does take more time to figure out and communicate to all teams. Looking forward to another great tournament.

I realize it was posted earlier but now that we are at the week of the date thought they would have better idea of exactly when decisions would be made and notifications started.

We are in the selection process this week and still opening dated registrations coming in from out of state , we will notify teams starting this Sunday the 12th and hopefully complete the selection that day or Monday the 13th. I will also post the teams on this site Monday or as soon as possible . Thank you for your patience.

Everyone should have received an email. If you did not, then I made a mistake in accurately reading it on the registration form or in typing the email address. So, if that is the case, please send me an email (jcav@bright.net) so that I can send you the email message that I tried sending to you already. And, if you have been accepted into the tournament, I can then add your correct email address to the list email addresses of teams accepted. That way we can continue to easily communicate information to you.
