A very positive shout out to Laser's coaches and families for working their butts off all weekend to get fields playable. Mike Slob (Lasers Gold) and Jeremy Ferguson (Lasers Blue) led the way on the 10u fields.

On Saturday afternoon, some huge tent eating storms hit the John Bishop Park/Whitehall area where 10u and 12u played. Coaches and parents were pushing and blowing water with leaf blowers, raking and dumping field dry to get the fields playable. Awesome job Lasers family! Thanks for a great run tournament with top-notch competition.

Our site had nice restrooms, not enough parking, no concession, fields were taken care of nicely, no temp fences for 16u, all and all good tourney with great competition and that is what you pay for. Umpires were decent and friendly.

The rains this past weekend were pretty bad and had the bracket crews and field crews scrambling to do what they could to get games in and moved back, rescheduled, etc. I can only speak for the crews at Gahanna South whom I saw working their butts off to make this a very good tourney. Just so you all know, the concessions were not run by the Laser families, but were operated by the City I believe. So if you had no concessions at your field, it had no bearing on the Lasers organization. Our field had concessions only on Saturday. All in all, I have to give props to the Laser families who did all they could to make this a great weekend despite the rains and winds.

John Bishop Park was ran great. Laser folks did an outstanding job before, during and after the rain to keep the fields going and getting them playable for Sunday. Umpires.....what can I say, for every good one you have 3 bad ones. It's the typical ASA umpiring. You can't ask questions and if you do you get the 3rd degree. Some are so full of themselves its ridiculous and some are just itching to eject someone. Concession.. They moved people through the lines quickly. This is by far the most efficient concession crew I've seen. I only had one item, the walking taco, and it was no joke. 2 bags of doritos or fritos covered in chili and nacho cheese. Great tournament, can't wait to return next year.

As usual, Lasers did a great job with field prep etc. for this weekends tournament for 14u at Gahanna Middle School West. Fields were dragged after each game, batters boxes lined again...they were on top of it. Well run tournament!

Only complaints that I have is fences and some of the ASA umpires. I met some nice umpires that really enjoyed their jobs and then there were those 80+ year old men that looked like they hated being there so anytime you asked them something they would tell you I don't want to hear it and not another word or your gone. I don't get not having fences, I saw teams playing their OF 200+ ft back and catching balls over their heads that would have been HR if there was a fence. I mean it's one of the biggest tournaments in Ohio with 160+ teams coming from all over why can't they put temporary fences at every field? Overall the competition was great and the field crews worked their tails off to get each field ready to play on time even through all of the weather delays.
