The SGS Magic 18O played two pool play games this evening. They lost the first game to the Bloomington Hearts 8 - 0. Bloomington was last years champion. The Magic then beat the Fox Valley Renegades 6 - 2. The first game it looked like the Magic just got out of their cars and played. Several errors in the first game spelled doom. The second game had a much better defensive effort. Next game tomorrow morning at 10am.

The Magic 18 Over team played bracket play Saturday. The first game was against the Roselle Rockers and the Magic came out on top 7 to 3. Dani Haley (Ohio Weslyan University) pitched a great game and Lindsey Tobias (University of Toledo) was 2 for 2 with 4 rbi's, one being a bases loaded double. The second game was against Hooters which consisted of Michigan, Michigan State and Central Michigan players. Nicole Natter (Indiana University/Purdue University - Indianapolis) went pitch for pitch with Hooters starting pitcher and looked great until the bottom of the 5th. Hooters put up 2 runs off an Amanda Chidester (U of Michigan) bomb. Lindsey Tobias hit a solo bomb of her own in the top of the 5th to make it a 2 to 1 game, but the Magic couldn't hold off the hot bats and Hooters scored 3 in the bottom of the 5th. The final was 5 to 1 Hooters. The Magic then played the Lady Explorers and looked as though the air was let out of their tires losing 6 to 0. It was a fun summer and Coach Robarge and Jeff did a great job putting the team together. After playing pressure filled college seasons the girls were able to have fun and still play serious ball. Great team and organization to be associated with. Thanks SGS Magic!
