FP11 brings up a good point about stats they are to be taken with a grain of salt. There are formulas out there that will take into account items such as luck, weather etc. here is a good example of what I am talking about although this is more geared towards baseball so is the current way most people keep stats.
The formula for Defense-Independent Component ERA (DICE) is:
Dice= 13HR+3(BB + HBP) -2K
300+ ____________________
IP
This is an example of baseball sabermetrics.
This is really a pretty cool formula that will allow a kid to know what her real ERA might be taken things out of the equation that she cant control.
If anybody attempts this remember PEMDAS order of operations.....Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction
