Somebody told me they were moving 14u's back, but I didn't think that was true. What is the right distance for 2011
Thanks

I heard the same. 14U's were moving to 43' but if you are a true 13U team you would stay at 40'. Anyone confirm?????

I would think it will 43, if the kids are going to freshmen they need to be pitching from 43 anyway.

High School moves back this year so to me it would only make sense to have the 14U ladies move back. They will be throwing from there next year anyways. jmo

Does anyone know where we would find a definite answer on this?

USSSA has posted started aug. 1 14u will be at 43' feet. there is some discussion that maybe that could be modified for 14 A bracket, and B bracket would stay at 40. It does make most sense to go to 43' so kids can play at their proper age group with out the pressure of needing to move up.

How the heck would that work. There are no 13U tournaments in Ohio except for USSSA nationals. You would be throwing from 43' anyway at all the other tournaments.

A lot of girls are still 14u eligible the summer after their freshman year.

Well High school is at 43' and USSSA will be at 43' come Jan 1.

NSA was optional at 43' for this year although they reserve the right to change that at anytime.

ASA has their meeting in November i think, with high school and USSSA already at 43', i doubt they would stay at 40'.

So my guess is its probably a 99% chance that all 14u will be at 43' by spring 2011.

There is no mention of this option in their rules........who is having this discussion ?

Get over it, (the 40 feet part) if you want to be a pitcher you better start practicing at 43 feet. I think the 12U's will be there in a couple of years. I think I heard that from the Ringer.

it's being discussed informally by the state directors I am told, I would still assume, it will be 43' across the board, as field crews would go nuts bouncing it around at the same age group! Bad enough they have to have 35' for 10's 40' for 12's they wouldn't want two different distances for 14's!

Been the talk at the fields. Ive been hearing it will be 43 feet for most if not all sanctions. Already making plans for it for my pitchers. Daughter threw from 43 feet this summer with her high school league team, so she is used to it.
Question is........will the tournament directors that will be running 14u tournaments make the early switch to 43 feet?

Anyone know if Middle School ball is also going to 43 feet?

What is there reason for 43 feet? Do they just want the ball hit all the time so you can not have a dominate pitcher or what?

In Goshen this Fall, all of our events in 14u will be 43 feet.

ASA 14u Hall of Fame qualifier will be 40' ft until ASA says differently to me.

Seems to me that is the answer. Put defense back into the game.
