It can really only happen at 10 and 12u like Thunder Elite did for their mega friendlies in Spring. Too hard to say what HS girls may be doing in the fall, and they are playing HS in the Spring.

Isn't there some sort of point system in ASA, PGF, or USSSA? Could a point be given for # of wins, strength of schedule, point differentials, etc.... uh oh, that's BCS talk... How do you get a definitive answer without an all encompassing governing body?
Triple Crown uses US Club Rankings to determine which teams get automatic berths to their TC/USA Nats and probably looks at them when determining where to slot teams in CO (i.e. Super 64/32, Fireworks, Sparkler). It has 3 components - finishes in major tournaments (NPS), coaches' polls and college placement (CPI).

The tournaments are in 3 categories (i.e. 4th of July CO, Championships and Regional). They are weighted by the level of competition at them, which varies by age level. For 16U in 2013, winning ASA/USA 16A Nats and PGF were weighted the same at 100 points, TC/USA Nats was 80 and ASA Eastern Nats was 20. For 18U in 2013, PGF Premier was 120, TC/USA was 90, ASA Gold 60, PGF Platinum 20 and ASA 18A was 10. For 16U in 2013, Boulder and TCS Super 32 were 60 points, Fireworks 15 and Sparkler 12. You can see the points for the rankings by clicking on the Events Considered tab and then on an event.

Stingrays could help their attendees if they got themself included as a regional event.

I believe the teams are responsible for entering their college commitments. The commitments are given points based on the college division.

bottom line.. ASA states is a great ticket to ASA/USA along with a short list of others with similar votes. As long as "Ohio" is the goal and debated on a regular basis, the real goal in promoting softball for OUR young ladies will remain off the radar for the majority. As aforementioned by others, the goal is top tournament success regionally and really beyond will push the players, coaches, and parents to understand where the real goals are. Midwest thinking is ok if you want Midwest exposure and that's that.

Don't get me wrong, it's great to see and read about tops in your area and so forth. It's natural. Hopefully the more we discuss this topic the goals will continue to evolve and OUR Ohio team abilities to get into the real events that help the girls get pushed like no other 'every single' game... we will then be able to bring it back and say wow, Ohio did great at Nationals (PGF, ASA, or what ever sanction). Shoot win them all. Just know that if you play an Ohio schedule all year long, get ready for an education that will only be a let down for the teams (with the exception of a rare few).

SoCal, you are the man. You absolutely LIVE for softball. Thanks for the detail (again). The rankings link and how it's developed is very interesting to say the least.

If my memory is clear the outlaws had to recruit a team outside of their org (grandslam) to be a contender. Oh & believe its only temporary

In my opinion its not the organization that wins the most tournaments or finishes higher at nationals, its the organization that puts it's players in college at the highest level!
