Another rule mis-interpretation

- Agreed that the pitchers and catchers don't need to be getting burned out, however, I am surprised to hear that they are working out 6 days a week. I have primarily seen 4-5 days per week workouts.

- In regards to pitchers and catchers, I would hope that the pitchers would not be throwing 6 days a week. In my opinion, that is too much for so early in the season.

- The pitchers and catchers aren't hitting. That is primarily what is going on in travel during a winter workout. I find the kids (including pitchers and catchers) want to do some hitting to get ready for school tryouts.

- I very much respect the high school program. It's big deal to the kids and we have good people involved in the program. However, I am only suggesting that the high school coaches follow the OHSAA rules.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I've always been an advocate for respecting the school districts and normally the Sunday before pitchers and catchers report is the last contacts we have accept for emails to the family/players to keep them updated on our schedule once school ball is complete. We host no fundraisers or have any other activities as a team. The kids sometimes get together and visit so I'm told but that's always a social setting and not team oriented.

Let the kids have their spring season and Sunday off. I agree, 6 days a week is enough.

Coach, this is a great answer. I never played fall and winter ball. I trained and worked on perfecting my part of the game.

Isn't the 7th day for fixing everything the HS coaches screwed up? ;& :lmao:

Man, I hope your not serious with this stupid statement, my former high school coach has probably coached at a higher level of travel ball then you will ever be involved with, and most others on this forum. Without him, I would not be where I'm at right now.

Slapsforhits: Congrats on a higher level of play; but the comment was more for fun (or that is how I took it).

Is topic has been and always will be up for debate. So I hope no one has a high school coach who keeps his/her head in the sand about travel ball. We strongly encourage our players to find a travel team in order to improve themselves and our program.
