Both Nightmare and Valley extreme Blue lose in very tight games

Nightmare losses 2-0 to American Athletics with the tying runs on base in the 7th

Valley Extreme Blue losses 1-0 to the New Orleans Voodoo with the winning runs on base

Both teams played tough and represented Ohio well - both start Losers Bracket play in the morning

Nightmare go down to high touted American Athletics Naudin out of Orange County California 2-0 despite giving up only 1 hit. The Nightmare did not help them by leaving runners in scoring position the last 2 innings with 1 out.

Valley Extreme Blue lost a hard fought game 1-0 to New Orleans Voo Doo and they too had runner in scoring position in their final at bat.

No results posted on the Dooms afternoon game as of this posting.

Good luck to the remaining Ohio teams as you continue play tomorrow morning.
Ohio is proud of your play and determination.

Cincinnati Doom loses a hard fought game to the Arizona Hotshots Sunderhaus. I have not heard any specifics from the game.

This leaves the Valley Extreme Blue and the Nightmare as the only 2 team left from Ohio and if each team wins there next game tomorrow morning the will face each other in the next game.

Good Luck to both teams tomorrow morning and may the best team win if they happen to meet tomorrow afternoon.

Stallion2

Do you have more information on how the Nightmare gave up 2 runs when the California team only got one hit? Why was it so hard to score runs time after time when they had runners in scoring position? I guess there will be no chest thumping tonight from proud daddy?s girls driving in the winning runs. Stallion2 how do you know the California team was highly regarded? What no yoyo tonight?

fspitchfan I agree and go further that the nightmare continue to chestthump and it is usually from parents who have to promote there kids... ?I see one that always tries to move his kid to another team in a "package" with the other studs on the team. ?I guess the grass is always greener? ?good luck to doom and valley extreme. ?all else can go home

Truculent and bellicos!!! Sad someone feels this way.

Good to all the teams left and kudos to all the others, job well done Ohio!

the Nightmare advance with a 2-0 victory

The Valley Extreme Blue go down to a very good hitting Birmington Vipers team 9-1 - VXB had just one less hit but couldn't string any together

The Nightmare take on the Vipers at 2:45

Nightmare loses to Birmingham. Tied for 25th, best of the Ohio teams. Great tournament. Great season. I have no affiliation with any of these teams, but I think the order of finish is pretty reminiscent of the way the season went. The way they finished is pretty much the way I would rank them. I don't know if I'd rank Orange ahead of Green though.

I rank the Nightmare highest because of their pitching. They have 2 that are as good as any of those teams #1's. Their 3 and 4 could be most teams #2's.

Congratulations to all. They are 6 very good teams.

Flexone: Where are you playing? I'd sing my daughter's praise also. You need to get over the fact you got left out of the mix somewhere along the line.

What was the score of the Birmingham vs. Nightmares game?? I was hoping that the scoring info we had passed on to your coach may have helped. Birmingham was a very good, but VERY COCKY team. It started out with their first baseman lettting a ball go by her in warmup and striking our pitcher Erin Gabriel on her pitching arm.

With regards to my Valley Extreme Blue team. I'm extremely proud of all of my players and Parents. We accomplished alot this season with a record of 51 wins 4 losses and 1 tie. With 3 of the 4 losses occuring at ASA Nationals. The biggest and most devistating loss occured against the New Orleans Voo-Doo by the score of 1 - 0. Our first two losses of the year were atributed to multiple errors and lack of basic fundamentals. That 1 - 0 loss was a hard fought battle that we just ended up on the short side of. Todays loss to Birmingham was not charactoristic of the team.

Congradulations to ALL OHIO TEAMS and especially the GCKA Nightmare for representing OHIO proud. We sent some good California teams to the losers bracket.

I found the score on the official website. It appears my statement about them being a good hitting team was accurate. The final score was 10 - 0. This team has been battling out of the losers bracket. I predict them to go deep in this bracket. They were sent there by the Arizona Hotshots.
Thanks

With the Nightmare losing to the Vipers, here is what I think I figured out:

127 teams in the tournament...
Nightmare ? Tied for 23rd with 7 other teams.
Valley Extreme ? Tied for 31st with 15 other teams.
Doom and MVX ? Tied for 47th with 15 other teams.
Lasers Orange and Green ? Tied for 63rd with 31 other teams.

I could be off by a position or two (originally I thought the Green and Orange tied for 65th, for example).
