ASA Tournament ASA/USA Qualifying Tournaments

Geez Bill, thanks for throwing a wet blanket on my holiday weekend . . . seriously, it will be great to have the Cincy teams increase the competition at Region 9 qualifiers. We can develop a friendly "North/South" rivalry, maybe marked by funny trophies to be held for a year by the winners of States and the Region 9 qualifier in each age group, with delivery of the traveling trophy as part of the awards ceremony at those tournaments?

Didn't mean to dampen the spirits. I wonder if Ohio ASA would want to consider having a person in charge of the State JO program. It would free up Warren and, just my opinion, would give the JO program much needed attention.

As always this is a great idea!!! Hopefully Warren is not a control freak and would support this move when speaking with the official's in Oklahoma City. What a huge advantage this would be for our young ladies here in Ohio!!!

CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THAT 14U REGION 9 IS JUNE 26 IN CORTLAND? (Yes, I'm intentionally screaming).

It shouldn't be this hard to obtain reliable information . . . I have no faith in the Ohio ASA web site because it appears out of date on some of the entries. And I'm confused because Valley Extreme appears to be hosting both the ASA 14U Region 9 and a PONY national qualifier for all age groups that same weekend. Is that all the same tournament?

Cancel that request for confirmation. I see there is a separate thread and it was sent to the top yesterday, so I assume that's the final word on the 14U Region.

Got the info for 16U State tourney and also say the 16U regional qualifier data. I thought the 16U regionals was cancelled because of "so many other tournaments". Is it cancelled or not??????

I'm very curious also to know about this 16u Regional - on the Findlay website there is a handout with dates. Was told by Warren and Roger that it was "cancelled" and being combined with the states - so according to the handouts that would be FOUR berths to ASA/USA nationals (2 from states and 2 from the regionals). Of course, that's just based on the flyers since each say they are giving 2 berths - but who knows.

No clue - I was told that probably around the same time you were. I emailed Roger late last night after I saw that on the website and have not received an answer. Will post if & when I do.

Spoke with Roger tonight and he reassured me that the event "IS CANCELLED". He said that it will be removed shortly. Hope this info helps.

Spoke with one of the 16u state tournament directors he told me there would be 3 births given out at state per state director.
