Attending several tryouts

My DD is planning to attend several tryouts this year but she has her sights set on a particular team. If she gets an offer from a team prior to her 1st choice's tryouts I'm not sure how to handle it. I don't want to string along a coach but I don't want her to miss an opportunity if she doesn't make her 1st choice.

Any suggestions?

Each year, many players are in this same boat, and most (not all) coaches get that. A few thoughts ...

1) If there are multiple choices of when to try out for the teams, try out for all of the teams in a relatively short time period. That way, no team is waiting for an answer for too long of a period
2) Try out for the team you are most interested in as soon as possible
3) Assuming the team she is most interested is at a higher talent level than the others and that she's above average for the other teams, chances are they will be willing to wait a little longer for her ... but I would talk with the coach(es), explain the situation, and then see if they are willing to wait. They may or may not be, depending on their needs and how many other girls they are still interested in.
