Bat rolling, and shaving. Really???

When are tournament directors, and the sanctioning organizations going to wake up, and start testing bats? I personally know of an '01 coach that has offered this service to a few of his players. Why in the world would a coach of a 12u team need to doctor a bat, and put the safety of others at risk? Testing should be mandatory, and the coaches that are found to be in violation should be subject to prosecution for assault. Enough is enough!

This is a big problem with slowpitch as well. If you look and the bats on ebay most of the time the rolled or shaved bats have more bids than the stock bats (sad). If you are offering shaved bats to any child of any age you should not only be banned for life from all sanctions, some dad or mom should expose you to the softball world as well as be charged for assault.

HUGE in slow pitch, most National & World level tournaments do test all bats. Most 12u and younger (I did say most, not all) are not strong enough to take advantage of shaving bats. I agree it is so wrong at any level, and as far as rolling is damn near impossible to prove.
