Best pop-up net?

I used a Jugs Pop Up net for several years. In the third year the elasticity was gone. When I became a high school coach our equipment room had at least a half dozen Jugs Pop Up nets that would not open due to the lack of elasticity. I bought a Hurricane net 2 years ago for our summer team. Everyone liked it so much I bought a second one so varsity and junior varsity could both use them in high school. One of the nice things is you can have a player on opposite sides of the screen hitting at the same time. Just alternate swings, make sure you stay behind the screen, and have the tee far enough back to allow the net to give with the ball. As far as putting the Hurricane up I have asked numerous parents to do it for me and not once did I have one say they couldn't do it or it was too difficult. Another feature I like with the Hurricane over the Jugs is storage and transporting the net in your vehicle. The Hurricane's shape makes it much easier to travel with.

I know that the Jugs net will also work well indoors on a gym floor. The Hurricane net does not appear (from the pictures) to be free standing like the Jugs. Can the Hurricane net be assembled without staking it into the ground? I think that feature is a big plus for Ohio teams as opposed to the southern and western teams that manage to practice outdoors year round.

That's why I ended up gping with the champro fold-up sock style net--I wanted something for indoor/outdoor use. I've had some champro sock nets in the past that worked pretty well, but I've never used the fold-up style, so I will give an update on how they work out.

After stumbling across a Jugs instant net and jugs backstop for a combined $50, I must say some of my original opinion has changed. I was 100% Easton and now liking Jugs more everyday.

I don't know what's best, but stay away from Addidas. Too hard to put up.

I have one and must agree... probably will sell it. Have only used it once and it goes crazy if the wind kicks up

The Champro folding nets are nice when they are up, but a bit of a hassle to fold up and and put up. It's a good concept--a folding sock net. But the quality of the hinges makes it difficult to operate sometimes.

Prefer Jugs, but have also used Easton 7'. Just remember to always step on the batter logos head and it folds really fast.

 LOL Can't tell you how many times I have watched people struggle. You go up and offer help and they are in seventh heaven for any assistance. Can be very comical to watch. . .:lmao:
