Is this a trick question??? ?Hmmm :-?.....If the coach is a teacher.....there sure won't be any softball.

I think both coaches are teachers, then if there is no softball can they practice with there club team.

Knowing the coaches of the schools, maybe they would still coach because they just outright like the girls and love the game. Now with that said, one would have to respect their employment status right to honor their working contract and I would bet there are a few parents who could or would step up and help out, one if that was even a legal option. Secondly, the time needed for any parent to do this would be a constraint, so maybe they practice a bit less? But the talent of the players they have would not miss a beat. I would bet you'd see the leadership of the girls step up and you'd see them out practicing on their own each day. That is the quality of players and dedication the players have had and do have in this district when it comes to this sport.

One would hope it doesn't go that far, but you do have to protect ones rights to work to a contract if there is one in play. Teaching is their livelihood and that is their first priority.

Just ones thoughts nothing more.

Can we get the scoop on what is happening at Hilliard? Are they in the middle of contract talks? It's news to me, I knew nothing of it.

Only a person recognized by the board, with the proper checks and certifications can coach the team, but I'm sure parents could run practice sessions, but probably not at the school.

Yes,
I believe it's expired and they are working to the contract... But even with that stated, I believe a paid coach position is a contract within a contract, then is it honored, it would be the unpaid coaches that help.

correct me if I am wrong on that....

When Wayne HS north of Dayton went on strike a year ago, their football games were cancelled. I assume their other fall sports were as well. As probably the only revenue generating sport in HS, if they cancel football nothing else is going to take place.

You have trainers, bus drivers, facility managers, etc. that all factor into the mix.

I would expect no school..... no sports :'(
