Welcome to the 2023-2024 season! We appreciate your interest in the 12U Butler Softball team! Girls who will be 12 years or under as of 8/31/23** are welcome to attend one or both tryouts. All positions are open, but we are especially looking for experienced pitchers and utility players.

**USA Softball has changed their age divisions classifications to 8/31 as of this year. USSSA is still using 12/31. We are open to only participating in USA or unsanctioned games/tournaments for the right players.

Tryout info:
August 5th: 12pm-3pm and August 6th: 1pm-4pm
Field 6 at the Vandalia Rec Center, 1111 Stonequarry Rd, Dayton, OH 45414
Please be warmed up and ready to go. Pitchers and catchers will be evaluated during the last hour of tryouts each day.

WHO WE ARE:
Our team joined the Butler Baseball & Softball Club organization for the 2022-2023 season and built a team of amazing girls from Vandalia, Englewood and Fairborn who have worked and grown SO MUCH over the last year. We put a heavy focus on development, solid fundamentals and increasing their game knowledge to get them ready to play at the next level. We will be sad to see some of the girls moving onto 14u next season but proud of their accomplishments and excited to see what they do in the future.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND ON OUR TEAM:

  • A positive team culture that works to build confidence and the mental game as well as physical skills
  • Players that aren't afraid of hard work, dedication, and accountability
  • Coaches who communicate open, honestly, and often

WHAT YOU WON'T FIND ON OUR TEAM:

  • Favoritism aka daddy or mommy ball
  • Any kind of drama or diva attitudes from players or parents
  • Disrespect to parents, coaches, players, or umpires
  • Attendance issues

OUR COACHES:
  • We have an all-female coaching staff with decades of combined playing, coaching, and umpiring experience (3 coaches, 2 are non-parent)
  • We believe in being a student of the game and are always finding new ways to grow our team through drills, videos, podcasts/books, team building, etc.
  • Players are "STUDENT" athletes so we put a huge emphasis on the importance of grades because if they want to play at the college level, they need more than just talent.
