Compuware - who's in and who isn't?

For those who have not been there it is an experience, just like everything else there are politics involved with any invitational. I tend to believe that some of the better teams in the state have been slighted based on some and I do mean just some of the teams that have been accepted (my dd team included) by this tourney. We are a new team but loaded with alot of talent.

Little off topic, but SGS Tune-up with Midwest College Showcase the weekend before, is not only try to get college exposure for just the D-1 caliber players, but all the way through the JUCO and NAIA etc. If you look at the list of colleges already committed, there is a nice blend. As Magic-16 said, it's not
THE premier event right now that compuware is, but we hope to develop to that level and more. . Having Magic White Dave Day involved, and Rob with Buckeye Heat Toledo sure helps! we are subscribing to the field of dreams moto "If you build it, they will come"

I'm not gonna say who - but.... I was talking with Al Land, the Compuware TD, the other day and he was pretty upset with some of the teams saying they didn't get in, especially if the DIDN'T EVEN APPLY. He also said some teams chose not to get in after they were accepted. he said there were enough teams from Ohio intersted that he could have filled it with Ohio teams. He also said he never claimed to use a "resume" (if you filled out the registration you know that there isn't a spot for that info. I just included it because I thought it would help) He also realizes that he'll miss some good teams and let in some average teams. he also said if I didn't like it, he would give my spot to someone else.

so with every post here, there is an angle - but somewhere someone is misinformed.

Dave, I'm pretty sure it's because my synapses haven't started working yet (and those few that are firing are going wild with a laser mouse that appears to have opted for anarchy), but I'm not sure I am getting the gist of your last sentence. Does it just refer to the fact that some teams reported as rejected didn't even apply? I guess I'm confused by the reference to "every post here". Thanks.

BTW, the reports that had me scratching my head the most were pretty specific about a rejection letter and sometimes came from the coaching staff.

And for the record, Buckeye Heat '95 did not apply this year but I'm pretty sure if Ice - Silver and Cincy Doom '95 didn't get in, we would have been an easy "no".

I didn't know what to think of my conversation with him... but he was specific (and I won't be) that some teams that are saying they got rejected didn't apply or turned down an offer. I don'tunderstand why some would would misspeak here or why he wouldn't be straight with me, but he was quite angry about it.

I see Jamie might have a tournament that weekend. Everyone ought to just go to that....forget about compuware ! Why travel when you can play the best right here in Ohio !!! Because we damn sure have the best teams to beat when Ohio is representing at compuware now.

Hmm. Well, unless our Heat people are lying to me and read from a letter that doesn't actually exist, then the 16-U Buckeye Heat Toledo didn't get in. Nothing more to my post than just stating the facts.

I know the Vikings Elite 16u didn't get in (we got the letter, along with our returned check).

With regard to my comment several posts ago about the Heat Toledo team maybe being the top 16-U team in the state, I was assuming the Nightmare were at 18-U for 2009. With their year in 2008, they would have to hold that honor as the top team.

he wanted to cut me loose for even asking about it . I'll be on the list of teams that don't get in next year I'm sure.

So is anyone going to have a tournament that weekend in Ohio since the good Ohio teams seem to not be in it?

Let me know and I'll throw one for the girls.

NOASSNRD,

Actually, a lot of Michigan girls are being recruited to play college ball. Look at Univesity of Michigan's roster. That is a good program and I don't think I have ever seen so many girls from the state on the roster. 8 of 16 girls are from Michigan this year.
