My 11 year DD was on "team" for the 2012 season. She attended try outs and was cut from the "team". The reason given was her throwing technique is incorrect. She attends 6 other try outs and makes all the other teams. I am at a complete loss. She is a quiet girl. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Sounds familiar to me... My daughter played 10 u with an org an finished top 3 in batting, strikeout % and on base %. This was 5 years ago. She was cut during the 12u tryouts and the reason given was that her arm was not strong enough. Well, she has gone on to start every game at catcher(her main position) or in the outfield(secondary position) in every game since with the Ohio Stingrays. The ***** ******* org said her arm wasn't strong enough. However, as a freshmen and sophomore she mad all OCC and Second team All Central Dristict. All while not changing a thing in her throwing motion. Last year at the Stingrays NFCA camp, she had the third highest average pop time of 90 some catchers. While this year she had the highest average pop time at catcher. So, I feel your point about getting cut from a team. However, for my DD, it definitley worked out for the best.
