Dilemma

Hi, I wanted to put this to a posting.

Due to some unforseen circumstances regarding myself and the local USSSA, I am not running any slow-pitch with them. I have signed on with Warren Jones and the ASA to run slow-pitch events.

Seeing how Warren would like me to get on board full time with them, he has offered to let me sanction my two May tournaments as ASA Eastern-Regional Qualifiers for Fast-Pitch. I have contacted Denny with USSSA to explain what happened here locally and he has told me he would have no problem with me switching those two dates over. After the game playing with the local USSSA, I have a bitter taste over them but do not want to leave Denny high and dry this late in the game with the season less than 4 months away. Denny was the only rep of theres up front and honest in the whole thing.

If I switch May 9-10 and 30-31 to ASA Eastern National Qualifiers, there is no conflict on the local level with anything the ASA has going on. I would still run the USSSA state on June 13 and the NIT on June 27.

Someone explain to me why I feel used in this whole process?

Welcome aboard Mike... don't worry about the dilemma..... after last years rains on almost every weekend, this seems very trivial. Pray for sunshine and everyone will love you!!!!!

Mike: As a former USSSA person for years in Men's softball and 1 year in youth fastpitch as an experiment for them in Wilmngton in 2007..... I can tell you USSSA does a lot of toe stepping on within their own organization. They meet on Labor Day itself to decide who is going to have what tournaments ... and that usually does not allow the Cincinnati man to be there as his park is very busy with normally a Great Lakes Division of some type ( Mens ) .

Good luck in any adventure that you may have no matter what organization you are with.

When are you going to make a decision on changing to ASA?

Already done.

May 9/10 and May 30/31 will become ASA Eastern-National Qualifiers. Both June tournaments will remain as USSSA as it would be unfair to them and the teams involved to have them scrambling for a State and NIT host site this late in the game. After that I will not be involved with them anymore. I am in contact with Ricky Moorehead to have my tournaments switched and my log on name changed.

Like Tim C said, it has been an interesting experience although a very short one. Denny Rose has been a class act and had circumstances been different, this might have worked itself out.
