ok, im pulling in to the parking lot at about 9am in peninsula for the Diamond Dogs Classic. we have a 1230 game but i figure i'll come early to watch the game that decides who we play. The fields are empty and look like a bowl of soup. I get out of the car and figure we are cancelled. All of a sudden a helicopter flies in over the trees and just hovers above field #2 drying it out in about 5 mins, then on to field 1 and 3. I dont know how that came to be but thanks to the tournament director because that was way cool... oh and the walking tacos were pretty good too...

One of my friends is a coach for Valley Extreme 12u blue and she posted a pic of it on her Facebook. I had to laugh. Never know what you're gonna see in fastpitch.

Well tourney directors, take notice. They literally did everything in order to get us to play.

I have seen this before. Works like a charm but it is very expensive.

It is however the best way to get a field in playing condition FAST. :D

If you know the right people it only cost you some cell minutes and a couple cards signed by your girls. This gentleman did it for us for free and said if we would have called at 4 am he would have come so we could have played on time. Thanks George!

Dan thanks for being brave enough to make the call.

Tealtown, ... your thoughts? :D .... sorry, old & unfair comparison, but somebody had to do it. The bar has been raised, the gauntlet is down, Tournament Directors! We don't want to hear excuses anymore! :p

Letter to George...

Dear George:

Please note the dates of our future tournaments for the next ten (10) years enclosed in this letter. Your availability is requested. We will "honor" your presence at the tournament all weekend long and you will have "free range" at our concession stand for the entire weekend.

We thank you for this year's gift of the usage of your helicopter .. the girls had a great time and loved it due to your efforts.

It takes a special breed of person to go to that expense and time so kids can play ball. Man, could we use more of you in this world.

Has anyone considered that helicopter rides could offset the cost of drying off ball fields.......... come on Quake the way your mind spins im realy surprised you dont at least have a part ownership in one.
PS. it would go over real nice with your leather aviator cap
