How cold is too cold to play? ?Are there different standards for school ball, rec ball, and tournaments? ?How about for age groups (U10, U12, U14, 16U+)? ?Opinions? ?Stated standards?

OCC here in Central Ohio has a 40[sup]o[/sup] standard (at 1:00pm at Columbus Airport I believe).

The OCC has that 40-degree standard, but a 40-degree day like today with no wind is fine, whereas 45 with a lot of wind is miserable. I'd say 35 degrees would be too cold pretty much no matter what, although they've played World Series in October in that.

I've seen some girls playing in sweats during scrimmages. I suppose the rules are more strict for regulation games, uniforms only?

40 Deg. "IF"?the girls were told in advance to dress for the cold weather. I cut our practice very short days ago because my girls were freezing and practice was un-productive.

At last weeks scrimmage my DD was a little embarrassed that I had my hunting boots on even though it would be socially acceptable in any southeastern Ohio county. Add to it the hunting socks and long underwear I also was wearing, I was one of the few not shivering.

Under Armour Cold Gear works great! Only problem is each piece is around the $50 range. Starts getting costly to stay warm....after ten min. outside, warmth is priceless.

Why buy Under Armour? Go to Wal Mart and they sell their brand in the mens section for about 11.00 for long sleeves. Works just as good. My DD has both brands and cannot tell any difference. Starter also has their brand at Wal MArt for a couple dollars more. ;D
