No need to wait.
The picture is from 1986
The kid is our oldest daughter Catie at age 5
She has her degree and is now employed by a well known traveling circus.
She has been attacked by several big cats over the years and remains a vigorous gun rights activist.
The cat is named mittens , a very rare cat with six toes on each paw
Mittens lived a very long and happy life We miss him very much.
The gun remains a very important family member to this day.
It was used to scare away Catie's very first boyfriend who wanted her to give up college. And my husband had used it earlier to shoot a coyote that was about to eat mittens.
Funny how life can throw you a curve when you're waiting on a fast ball.

LMAO!:lmao: I know this family and they are some of the coolest people around! Great to everyone and as for all the AVATAR haters.....from the looks of this personal avatar I wouldn't mess with a chick with a gun...lol!

lol! I agree! Not really sure why some people have to be sooooooo cranky! This is supposed to be a fun website for learning, friendship, and sharing a common interest...not critiquing peoples typing or English abilities!!!

Not only are there dictionaries out there, but last time I checked there were anger management classes! If you want to judge people on their Language Arts or typing skills, become a teacher!

We've already played a couple games this fall in the 30's. Sunday morning at Best of Best the frost was priceless. As far as the avatar, I think it's funny.

Like Hitter23 said earlier, Greenville last week was pretty damn cold.
My team had 10 hour handwarmers that lasted 2 hours at best.

My pitchers couldnt feel their fingers very much on Saturday so by late afternoon pitches were not moving like they should.

It's me Viper. Really the only time Mrs. Ringer gets on here is when Statman needs some political redirection.

Northwest Ohio, 15 years ago...33 degrees at game time, wind blowing at about ten to fifteen miles per hour, snow flurries by the second inning. The pitchers couldn't feel their hands. Final score, THREE HOURS LATER, was 36-28. It was the first game I ever helped coach. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why I stayed after that day!

Going wayyyy back--1994 or 95 Make a Wish Snowball at the Maumee Rec Center was in the negatives. We had just gotten our first bunch of the new protoype Easton(played for Easton/Budweiser), and we went through all of our new bats in the first game. 4 years ago in MI we played two weekends in a row of FP Fallball in driving freezing rain. I am not sure that actually benefitted anyone, as we had hands, ankles and knees injured much more than usual, a lot of kids missed school, and of course all the "new" bats got ruined. That is why I always make sure we have a couple of Walmart specials laying around-- no advance composites, multi-part construction, ect--just something built like a hammer that is easily replaceable. Nothing worse than the letter back from customer service saying "it appears your bat was used outside of the normal performance parameters".....i.e., kiss your $300 garauntee good-bye.

When I was in college, we played up at Definance and it was sleeting and the wind was blowing like 15 mph! Absolutely the coldest weather I can remember playing in, or coaching in. It was miserable, but at least I had catching gear on to keep me a bit warmer...lol

In Ohio, if we didn't play in 30 degree weather,we wouldn't get to play high school ball.Go to Greenville, they know how to play in the cold.A few years ago they had burn barrels at every dug out for the High School Shoot-out

I too was at that High School tourney in Greenville fourtwoon.
Those barrels didn't put a dent in the cold. Nice thought but man it was cold...

I noticed a lot of cage bats were being used that year. didnt see to many RT's thats for sure.

That was the coldest weather I have ever watched a game in. That saturday had a little bit of everything if I remember correctly. Sun, clouds, rain, sleet, snow, and then some sun again. Thru it all the fields held up pretty good and I think that they got all of the games in.

that posts gets me fired up to infest the OFC with a meandering 500 off-topic meandering topics just to reach Filthy Addicted status

Not sure that would help as the cold makes the ball harder. Better would be seat warmers for the stands :)
