Re: How did you come up with ?your OFC name ?? &n

My wife's idea. My oldest was playing on 1 rec, two traveling and a high school team. My youngest was playing rec and traveling. I was coaching three and helping on two others. We had no vacations for 4 years. We were crazy, but the softball community is a great place to make friends. You can go to a camp and talk to parents and players from all over the state that you have played against over the years. We played the Blaze last year in Toledo and Marysville. My dd had just been to camp with many of the girls from the Dayton area so she is cheering for them . We parents sometimes take this game to serious. We could learn a few things from the Kids..

Chose the name after dealing with parents that made the softball experience more about them than their dd's. ?

Came up with mine from coaching first base it was either Go 2 Go 2, or Dig Dig Dig.

Not many of use around Uncle_Bubby but I am also a Lions fan and remember Bubba Baker, funny thing we have been looking for a pass rusher since he was traded to the Cards, whats that been 25 years? lol.

Happens to be my all-time favorite song (early 80's REO SPeedwagon for the youngsters)...

And not a bad approach to life when your feet hit the floor every morning....

For those of you unfamiliar with DeepBlue:

The computer system dubbed "Deep Blue" was the first machine to win a chess game against a reigning world champion (Garry Kasparov) under regular time controls. This first win occurred on February 10, 1996. Deep Blue - Kasparov, 1996, Game 1 is a famous chess game. However, Kasparov won three games and drew two of the following games, beating Deep Blue by a score of 4?2. The match concluded on February 17, 1996.

Deep Blue was then heavily upgraded (unofficially nicknamed "Deeper Blue")[2] and played Kasparov again in May 1997, winning the six-game rematch 3??2?, ending on May 11, finally ending in game six. Deep Blue thus became the first computer system to defeat a reigning world champion in a match under standard chess tournament time controls

I am a bit analytical. My thought process can be a bit computer like. Hence the name.

I'm a numbers guy and really enjoy the Stats side of the game.

And by the way, I do play chess. But, poorly!!

Now that is interesting. I was expecting a "bruise" story. I do remember the chess match - I didn't know the computers name was deep blue.

I am waiting to find out the story behind JoeA or TheBearMay.... LOL

Back during the CB craze of the 70's my Grandfather had this basestation that talk for miles, and his CB handle was jojo, he passed away in 1995 and I picked his handle as my username to keep him alive in my heart, every time I get on OFC I see that name and think of him.

5 is the number of people in my family today, hence jojo5, and now you know!
