Ya gotta love winter. I've lived in places where there is no snow, or cold temperatures, but I prefer the seasons. Might move to Seattle once the kids are grown and gone though, but even then they have winter to an extent.

We are pretty excited in Columbia Station. We were state ranked last year and lost 4 great seniors but we have a team to beat this year. We lost the last 2 years in the districts but this year should be a different story. We have 3 girls from Madness black with 3 more studs and the rest are 1 sport juniors that only play softball. The whole junior class of girls have played softball only all the way through from 10 years old. There is only 1 junior on the basketball team. The jv program is deep and may not lose any games also. This could be the year for a run at state. We can't wait for some action!

I saw them play a few games including when they beat Walsh which was their first loss. They are very good team, and have some outstanding Pitching. This team should be able to win games even against D-I Teams.

I know they lost Solonics who is now at Toledo. Those are pretty big shoes to fill in the circle.

Columbia is very deep this year. They are not rebuilding like many schools do after losing some great seniors. The coach has more talent than spots. Christine Lyzen with her 60+ will hold down the circle with another pitcher on her heals wanting in. I'm just blowing my horn with excitement because they will be a team to watch. The jv will have talent that would make varsity at some schools. I am just reporting what to look for.

Christine Lyzen is also a great catcher as well. She is an all around great kid..

Ive seen Christine L pitch and she throws hard but i know a lot of high school kids that can crush 60 mph meat balls all day long ..... my money is on a girl down in Black River Dagmar Smith (Sophomore).... fast ball clocked at 62 ... and a rise ball and change up that is wicked ... i even think they play on same madness 16u team together.....

The Columbia group that played CSU this winter is not a look at the varsity team. Only a few were there and some 8th graders also. Two maybe 3 players played positions out there at times so don't let that group mislead you.

wow!!! Columbia sounds loaded !!! We got some pretty good teams in D3 in our area as well!! For instance, South Range made a run last year and really didnt lose anyone. They are flat out loaded!! Thats why they play the games. cant wait for the season to start!! Good luck to all

After watching south range lose 7-0 to hillsdale in regionals, I am not sure how they went 29-1. Hillsdale won that game with an average pitcher at best. I question the strength of their schedule. I think they would struggle to go .500 in hillsdales league. Columbia will be tough, but not at tough without Jen Solonics. Good luck to all.

Sounds like you are playing down Jeromesville. They won State last year must have been a tough team. SR struggled mentally after a judgement call cost them a player for the entire game in that regional final game. They lost one player but will be just as strong this year and will be playing a tougher schedule to prepare themselves better for the road to State. They beat Mooney twice last season. Never got a chance to see Ursuline because they lost out to Mooney in districts. I think they will have a great season again this year.

No telling what will happen this year. Ursuline beat Hillsdale during the year pretty good and then lost out to mooney in semis. Hillsdale goes on to win it all. Go figure. Whatever happens, it will be a fun ride. There are a lot of really good teams out there. Question is who will have the momentum at right time. South Range in the past has played a weak ITCL schedule, but they have scheduled better this year and should be ready to make a run. Champion also strong and will have something to say about things. Ursuline lost 7 seniors from last year, so they are in rebuild mode. They always put a good product on the field, but this is not a contending team this year. They will be back in a few years. Can't wait for the season.
