The Ohio Hawks 2009 Skills Clinic Announcement

November 21st and 22nd in Cincinnati, OH.

There will be a coaches clinic on November 21st followed by a players clinic on November 22nd. Teams and players can set up personal instruction with individual instructors on November 22nd. More information and available time slots will be announced soon. Location is SWOBAT.com located in West Chester, Ohio.

We are arranging for a coaches Q&A session on recruiting, player development, etc. for Saturday evening at the local Marriott. Special hotel rates will be available.

We are still confirming additional instructors for the coaches and players clinic but here is the line up so far. Feel free to visit all of the instructor's websites for more information about them and their credentials.

On Sunday we will hold a players clinic where players can workout with each of the instructors, rotating through stations with each of them for an hour. Space will be limited, we will make sure the older girls get registration priority and as a coach you can see your DD/player go through the routines, lessons that you learned on Saturday.

Attending coaches/parents on Sat pay an additional $25 for their DD to participate on Sunday (and get registration priority), players registering but not sponsored by an attending coach/parent pay $40 and will be offered a spot based on availability.

The coaches clinic will offer an option this year.

Each instructor will speak in a class room session in the morning and offer in site to pitching, catching, fielding and physical and mental conditioning/peak performance. The speakers will cover how to best prepare your players in practice as well as game day coaching strategy and adjustments.

In the afternoon the clinic moves to on field instruction. Instructors will demonstrate visual cues, fundamental skills, problem areas, drills, teaching methodology and much more. Coaches can choose to learn from all instructors or spend the day with an individual instructor as they give lessons. Coaches are encouraged to bring their gloves, video cameras and a thick note book.

Instructors:

Deb Hartwig runs multiple Just-Softball indoor facilities on the west coast. Deb has spent is a certified Rightview Pro representative that specializes in training catchers. Deb was a standout catcher for Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton. Deb currently trains travel ball, college, former Olympic and professional softball players on the west coast. Deb will instruct on all aspects of catching, instructing today's players as well as Rightview Pro instruction and uses. www.just-softball.com

Bill Hillhouse operates www.houseofpitching.com and his DVDs and instruction are staples in pitching instruction. Many in the region are very familiar with Bill and those who are not will become BIG fans after this clinic. Please take a moment to visit his site to read his bio and about his extensive experience teaching pitching through out the world. Bill will speak on all aspects of coaching and teaching the art of pitching fastpitch. We recommend that all attending purchase and watch his DVDs to get a better understanding of his techniques.
