USSSA Tournament Lancaster Early Bird - USSSA WSQ

It was truly a rollar coaster game. Controversial is putting it mildly. I just want to congratulate the girls from both teams as they held their composure and battled until the very end. It is such a shame to see grown adults arguing and yelling when two teams of 10 and 11 year old girls are standing by watching everything take place. I have two words: ROLE MODELS

Congratulations to LGSA on a well run and organized tournament with some great teams. It was nice to get out early especially with great weather and really kick the summer season into gear. Second year at this event, thanks for the extra game, well worth the money, we will definately be back.

I just want to thank Donny & the rest of his peeps for another great tourney. We have attended for 3 years and I still don't know how the guy does it. 4GG for $300 and he is giving out awards to 1st-4th. I know some of the umpires were a little questionable but Kudo's to the young lady and gentleman who worked field 8 Sunday. Solid as I have seen in 2 seasons.

I don't think this is the place to be pointing fingers and calling coaches names. Yes tension was high and these were very close ball games. I am sure all involved including the umpires on field 7 would handle things a little differently given a chance. As they say hindsight is always 20/20.

From the Ohio Glory organization, I would also like to thank Don and the LGSA on another outstanding tournament... We always enjoy playing at Lancaster as they always run great tournaments and this weekend was no exception. Also, the quality of teams were very good, which always adds to the excitement... Again, thanks for the concern for my DD and thanks to the LGSA board members who helped us during her injury...

I do not miss the drama filled year of 10U ball! It is the worst year for drama not from the girls but from the parents. It is hard for some parents that are coming from rec ball and get a dose of not everything is fair anymore and you have to work hard to earn your spots because the girl behind you and in front of you WILL take your spot and will do anything to do it even with help from their parents. That is where the drama comes in.

As for calling coaches names. That is childish. If you have a problem take it up with them. Is this high school again?!?! I know that I saw the Dragons coach apologize for yelling across the field to his asst coach, he was not yelling at a player. Was it the best situation no, but he did take responsibility for his actions. I am sure that he will think twice before yelling across the field again.

geez...sounds like things got pretty heated in Lancaster! I guess when you have a tournament filled with that many great teams, the games will be close, and the emotions very high! Congrats to the Lady Lasers Purple!

Please do not think that I am calling any of the coaches names. Yes, I think hindsight is always 20/20 and all would have handled things much better. Also, the coach from the Dragons did apologize for his actions to each parent and to each coach. I applaud him for taking full responsibility of his actions. LGSA put on an excellent tournament as they have always done.

I don't think anyone thought you were calling names. They were referring to the post where some genius added his valuable insight by calling someone an a******.

Softballaddict makes a good point about 10u but having a DD in 12u I can say there is only minor improvement. Our organization sent out this youtube video called "magic helmet" it is about youth hockey but the message transends youth sports in general. Check it out and share it often.

My favorite saying from my 14u pony baseball coach was. "If the parents would would stay out of things these kids could learn and enjoy the game" RIP Coach Herron!

Jeff,
We beat Extreeme Heat 5-4 then lost to Lasers 11-1 in the semis.

On the other side I am not sure about the scores but the Dragons beat Classics maybe 6-5 after 3 innings of ITB, In the semis The Dragons beat the Stars maybe 9-6 in ITB. Not usre who the Stars played to get there but I think it was a 3 or 4 inning mercy.

Maybe someone from the classics or dragons could give us the exact numbers but close games on that side from the quarters on.

I might have this flip flopped but I beleive Dragons ended up scoring 9 in both games.

I think it was 9-7 versus Classics and 9-8 versus Stars. Dragons finished both games in the field and the tying run (maybe the winning run) was on base in both games. The games were both so close the whole 4-5 hours blurs together.

No problem Jeff. I see you are sending the Ice down for some advanced recon on us southerners Memorial Day weekend. Classics, Lasers and Ice all got in the same pool. How would you like to see one of them as a 3/4 seed in bracket, LOL
