What is the difference in the Little League World Series VS USSSA World Series? How does a team get into the Little League World Series? Every year my family watches the Little League World Series but I NEVER seen USSSA broadcast on the television.

Little League is the largest international baseball and softball rec level non-profit organization in the world. There are over 7,000 Little League organizations in over 100 countries in the world. This is how Little League works:

There first must be a Little League program in the community. The players in that community are seperated into teams in the form of a draft or blind draw. Those teams play each other and other communities during the regular season. At the end of the season, the coaches in each community choose at least one all-star team. These all-star teams compete against other teams in their state. If they win state then they play against other teams in their national region. If they become regional champs, then they compete against other US regions in hopes to become the US champion. The US champion would then play against another country in the Little League World Series Championship.

We have Little League in our city for our rec ball. It is absolutely the worst organization I have ever seen. Of course they are all about the boys, too.
Softball is HORRIBLE in our home town. I drove both of my DDs 25 minutes away to another city so that they could learn good, fundamental softball in their younger years.

I saw the Little League World Series last night but I wasn't aware exactly what it was. I am glad someone posted this!!

Watched the softball last evening. I have to keep reminding myself they are 11, 12 & 13 AND it's rec. league. On one hand it's great that the kids involved get on national tv, but not so great that this is the level of play that gets national exposure. The L.L. baseball is definitely a notch above the softball in the age/talent ratio.

The championship game is sure not providing viewers a good look at quality softball.

While this is interesting format for the kids involved, I would have much rather watched ASA Nationals (Normal, Illinois) than this.

An obvious hint that this softball is another realm is the grass infield. It is definitely not select softball, as they specifically state in their regs.

I think the emphasis is more geared towards the human interest stories than actual competition. Although there was a Washington player interviewed that stated she started out in Little League. But I'm sure there's more to the story...
