DSU fell short to Bellevue (Neb.) by the scores of 4-2 and 8-7 in the North Star Athletic Association conference action at Thue Softball Complex.

SANTEE, Calif. — No. 12 Hope International spoiled the season finale for the SDC Hawks softball team on Wednesday.


The Royals defeated SDC 15-4 in Game 1 and 12-3 in Game 2.


SDC finishes the season with a 12-33 record.


The Hawks scored first in both games but were unable to hold their leads. In the first game, Bailey Romano started the scoring with an RBI single to left center scoring Tori Harris.


The Royals scored three runs in the third but the Hawks answered with three of their own, thanks to a 3-run homer from Romano. She accounted for all four runs in the contest.


HIU added two in the fifth and one in the sixth, before exploding for nine in the seventh inning.


Romano finished 2-3 with a run and the 4 RBI.


Madelyn Jacobs assisted in the scoring for the Hawks in Game 2. Her single up the middle eventually scored Romano and Harris after an error from the center fielder trying to corral the batted ball.


The Hawks scored their last run of the season in the fifth with a sac fly from Joselle Nicolas scoring Harris.

St. Cloud State earned two key conference wins on the road Wednesday afternoon in Aberdeen, South Dakota, as the team took down Northern State University 7-0 and 7-2 to improve to 36-14 overall and 18-8 in NSIC play.

Kingsport, Tenn.- The regular season ended for the softball team and a 27-7 overall record and a 20-6 record in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) was enough to qualify the team for postseason play. The first game of postseason play came on Wednesday when the 24th ranked softball team and #3 seed in the AAC Softball Tournament took on the six seeded Milligan College Lady Buffaloes.
