ASA Eastern National Qualifier - June 10-12, 2011

• 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U age groups. Effective 3/30, the entry fee for 10U has been reduced to $275 (4GG) for our tournament. Currently have 3 spots open at 10U. Will accept the next 3 teams that pay in full.
• Liberty Township Park, 1201 Churchill - Hubbard Road, Youngstown, OH 44505
• $375; $350 / team if three (3) or more teams from same organization enter the tournament. For the multi-team discount, payment must be on one (1) check. The first and second team will pay full price and all subsequent teams will receive the $25 discount. Please make checks payable to "Ohio Blast". Refund Policy: 1-month advance notice for 10U - 14U and 1-week notice for 16U teams. A $75 administrative fee will be charged.
• First place team in each age group will receive a berth to their organizations' respective ASA Eastern National tournament
• 4GG minimum - 3 pool play games & single elimination (weather permitting)
• 80 minute games for pool play and elimination games (Friday & Saturday); no time limit for championship games
• Friday games will start at 6:00pm for local teams; Saturday & Sunday games will start at 8:00am
• Team check-in is one (1) hour prior to first scheduled game
• Gate fee daily with the option to purchase a weekend pass. No fees for team manager, two coaches, and players. Children under 8 years old get in free. Free parking
• ASA sanctioned teams only. Must provide sanctioning information, ASA roster, coaches proof of ASA certification as well as proof of insurance. Tournament governed by 2011 ASA Official Rules
• Team and individual trophies for 1st & 2nd place team in each age group
• MVP ribbons for each game

We are starting to get interest; will update list as we get the teams signed up. We are also looking into getting other various vendors including and we will keep u posted on that.
This is a really nice place to play; lots of trees; quite a few pavilions; consession stand and stationary rest rooms and porta a johns throughout.

Reminder this is an Eastern Qualifier. We are also working on some other things; depending on how many teams sign up. We are thinking (if possible) to have a Friday game with players representing all teams (on one team) signed up. Sort of a player showcase. If it all works out we will ask you to submit a form for your player and position and will fill as needed and will try to be equal amount of players from each team. Its different but may be sorta fun to do.

We are also in the process of contacting local colleges to invite them out to this tourney, therefore if you have any skills dvd's or profiles you may want them to have we will sent up a special section (tent) for that. Again this is all in production depending on how many teams are entered.

Liberty Park is a real nice facility; lots of pavilions, lots of trees(shade) and is easily located right off 80 or 11. Lots of Hotels and restuarants.

This is our first tournament but not the first we have been directors for so its not new to us. There are no other tournaments in the area for that wekend so give us a try.

We are starting to see more teams inquire or enter. As they do I will keep you posted (via email) of any changes and for suggestions on how you may want something handled. For example if we have the available time for a field would you prefer a home run derby? or maybe some sort of "best of the Best" game. Meaning; taking (say) two players from each team and having a game on Friday Night? Older girls bring your profiles and any dvd's you may have and we will set up a table so that you can have them there for colleges (that we invite and you write to) to take. This may be Ohio Blast first tournament but directing tournament are not new to us, and we are going to try to make it a little different from the rest with your input. We will make sure Pitchers mounds are safe for all games with no giant ditch in front of the mound.
