DD played Middle School club for Ross 2 years in a row. $90 fee plus fund-raising. Onto High School now, it will be the same fee structure.

Little Miami is $651 per sport. It won't cost anything next year though, since it is likely there won't be athletics period. It's disappointing too, because dd will be a freshman next year, and was looking forward to playing school ball.

Middle School Club Ball in Lebanon last year was $145. Not sure what high school will be yet this year. But I have heard around $50.

No doubt. Little Miami's inability to pass a levy resulted in the district being placed in fiscal emergency by the state this past July.

The levy issue has been on the ballot seven times in the last 2-3 years, and has failed every time. It will be on the ballot again in May, but I don't see how it will pass, as the proposed mil rate will be even higher than it has been previously. It is a very real possibility that the district will end up being dissolved. In the meantime, the quality of the education drops as good teachers seek employment elsewhere, where the future holds more promise.

At this point I am very seriously considering moving, even though my property values have dropped off a cliff, and chances of finding a buyer are slim. Any good districts in SW Ohio looking for pitching?

Avon High School is $200 for the year, Middle School is $100 with the family max at $350. It isn't too bad since you could play three sports for the same price. This doesn't promise playing time. It doesn't include road trips past 50 miles.

Your more than welcome to move our way Merlion. You can even live with us until your house sells, lol. It would be nice to have our two daughters together though. Tell Kavin I am recruiting her and offering a house.

Thankfully, our little rural district, Joseph Badger, doesn't have pay to play. I know the school my nephew goes to, Lakeview, is $250 per sport, but if the kid gets free/reduced lunch, it lowers the amount by at least half and up to the whole enchilada.

Our district doesn't have pay to play, but since softball is still a club team, we paid $100 last year.

No school district here, but Saint Joseph Academy is $150 per sport on top of the almost $11k tuition. Isn't that a kick in the crotch?!

DIBS.......I call dibs. :). Lol. You name the conditions. A la Cam Newton.

Joking aside, that is sad that a district has such financial turmoil. Any school would be lucky to get someone of your DD's talent.

Other than adding $$ into the athletic budget, has anyone seen a increase or decrease in the quality of athletes on the teams that pay ? Are the players more focused ? Does it get rid of some of the "socializing" players ? I mentioned it to our schools varsity softball coach (small school in Highland Co. ) and he told me that if they went to pay-to-play, he probably wouldn't have enough for a team.

Just curious, didn't mean to hi-jack.

Thanks for the complimentary remarks. Your daughter is very talented as well. Wouldn't it be cool if the two of them could team up again?

I know that your district has open enrollment, but it's a little far to be driving everyday. :(

$660 in Medina per sport, no cap. Yet theres no charge for extra politics and "If my kid doesn't play varsity she won't play softball for the school" seems to come easily as well. Too bad the coaches put up with that and listened to it as well

LOL. Are sport really free there or is it just figured into the total tuition costs? :lmao:
