I'd keep eyes and ears out. Alanna Conmfort is in Zanesville now, but she's moving to akron I hear. She's excellent. Bill Hillhouse has a very fine reputation, but there are some who believe his approach to pitching mechanics don't match up well women's pitching. I'm not saying yeah or nay, just something to be aware of. He has many successful students.

This should be fun!

Bill Hillhouse teaches the exact same mechanics that all the great pitchers use including Jenny Finch. Her arm whips across the body just before release just like his. She does not pitch with a straight arm, and even though she thinks she does her "HELLO ELBOW" she really does not when she is pitching.

Not only that, but unless you are "slamming the door" at release, men's and women's mechanics aren't any different.

Love, love, love Bill.

The reason, in my opinion, that some people get all wound up about Bill is because he isn't teaching the standard locked arm, barely open, slam the hips way of pitching that is so prevalent here in Ohio. If you look at pitchers from out West, not a whole lot of them pitch that way. He also challenges you to ask "why".

Again, just my opinion.

Ed Beavears is VERY GOOD! He cares about the girls . If you give 100% he will give 100%. He cares how your DD arm feels after every lesson. And if he thinks you are waisting your money he will tell you. a lot of coaches are taking big group lessons and just pocketing cash, it is so nice to pay the same fee for a private lesson that some coaches charge for groups. And your DD will be coached on every pitch a solid 1 hour of coaching. My 15 year old DD been there 5 weeks and I cant beleive the differnce NO SORENESS ,MORE SPEED,MORE MOVEMENT AND CONFIDENCE. NICE TO SEE THE OLD SCHOOL WORK ETHIC.

Concrete coulded agree with you more. Mine has been going there for 2 years now. She has picked up and gotten so much better. I like that his lessons are one on one for 1 hour and so reasonably priced. Also he holds nothing back. Like you said he will tell you if you are wasting your money. I also like the fact that he instructor so you can hear what is being taught. This helps so much becasue I can see everything that may be wrong when she pitches if needed and know how to correct it.

Concrete and Shark, I agree 100%, Mr. Beavers is an outstanding pitching coach!! But, i was told he is not taking anymore younger ones. Bummed about that. I have a 9 year old( 10 in may), and we have done the small group thing for a bit. No mechanics stressed really, not real thrilled. Definitely want one on one once a week, then pitch with group is fine on other night. I have seen first hand what he has done with pitchers. I will reach out to Bill Hillhouse. Thanks for the input all!!

13bronx,
I can see what I can do. You are right about the comment with younger pitchers but has wavered here and there. I have got a few people in to see him. But after that its up to you.
