Crystle ... yes, mine was taught the same way and is now pitching in college so it worked for her as well, I guess!

If your mechanics are sound, throwing hard isn't going to cause injury.

I agree, but over use will. Unfortunately too many girls are entering the overuse catagory every year.

Coachjwb, our dd is/has been taught to throw hard from the beginning. We are of the belief that if you focus on accuracy first, you become hesitant to sacrifice it temporarily to pick up speed, but if you throw hard from the get go, the accuracy comes. Not saying it's for everybody, but it's worked for our dd.

Exactly the way my DD was taught as well. Throw hard, the control will come with experience.

My last response, I think we are only confusing BRONX13 . I totaly agree 150% that a girl should always have a fast windmill and throw agressive. What Im saying is for DAD not to get in a hurry and she will develope fine, with what ever his approach is. She is only 9 years old she may be a fire baller at 10 years old it might be at 11 years old , It will happend. Good luck to all this season !

no he does not tell who he has had, as he put it "if you are a pitching instructor and have a very full schedule of students your bound to have some that become great after awhile,

Please do not take offense to this, but this is the answer I knew you were going to give, and for his quote you wrote, is exactly why I never took my DD to him.

You didn't take your DD to him because he refused to brag about who he has taught?

LOL.....You just don't get it. Keep drinking that Hillhouse kool-aid, I'm done with this.

You're right I don't get it.. You haven't given one valid reason why you constantly bash him. Just now, You just said you refused to take your dd to a pitching coach because he refused to brag about who he has taught. At least that is why I asked you the question for verification.

I looked back through my posts, I can find where I said these words. I would be interested in knowing how old your DD is, and what experience you have with pitching.

It's right here ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.

What does the age of my dd or my pitching experience have to do with you bashing Bill? There is a reason I take her to a pitching coach, I've never fastpitched a day in my life ;&

Not really sure where this tread has gone to, but I really feel the best coach is the one your DD responds to, learns from, stays healthy, and becomes the best she can be. Regardless of their name. My DD goes to Ed Beavers, she loves him. I know pitchers who go to Hillhouse, they love him. I know several great pitchers who came from both, along with other several other pitching coaches. Just find the right fit.

Agree, i started this thread to get insight on who is available and reputable in the Youngstown Warren area. Mr. Beavers is not taking any younger ones and Mr. Hilhouse is a little farther than i wanted to go with her. We had some outstanding pitching coaches in area, but they have retired. With that being said, i do believe we found someone closer to home. Thanks for all the input

I agree that it is more the student and their dedication to practice that makes the biggest difference in success on the mound. To say one coach is better than the other is not fair.

My dd is an experienced pitcher who is looking for a new pitching coach. Does anybody have contact information on Mr. Beavers?

Thanks
