16UA ASA Northern was probably a little down last year because the 16UA USA/ASA was being held in Sioux Falls and drew 220 teams. I know in MN many teams have a limit on how far they will travel for National and so teams that usually would attend a Northern, took the chance to go close to home to S.D. We sent 5 teams to Sioux falls last year and only 2(maybe 3?) teams to Northerns and ususally that is flip flopped the other way.

I think having Northern's in KY is a great draw as it is close to many Eastern/Southern states being on the edge of the northern region. It's a long drive for us, but I think worth it to see some new faces and play good competition.

Thanks for the input. It doesn't sound good when the best comment is that the place is average at best. Ya, can't be good when you have real life C.S.I. across the street, no need to watch it on TV  Oh boy...time to talk to parents and so forth....thanks again...

See my e-,mail communications with 14u "B" TD on the York PA ? in regards to concerns, and her response. I think they have things under control and are working towards making it a good experience.

I work in one of the worst neighborhoods in Cleveland, slept on the street in Queens NY and have walked the streets of Parma. I think I can make it out of big bad York PA.

To all my fellow Parmatoneans. . .Sounds like the crime, car break-in's and home break-in's in my neighborhood is higher. . .speaking of. . . woke up Wednesday morning to all three of my cars being broke into; glove boxes left open change stolen and CD's stolen in all three. I guess our stupidity of forgetting to lock them last night saved us the cost of windows being replaced like my neighbors. . . . and I live in the wanna be area? Wanna be robbed. :lmao:

So do we now understand some posted about York without FACTS ! Sounds like we should not play in many cities in Ohio if we use police stats. I had the opportunity to look at bar charts based on police stats and many of our cities are worse in Ohio than York. Appears some had some hidden agenda !

Crimes of opportunity. Leave things in sight in your car and you will lose them, anywhere. Even in North Royalton, Broadview Heights, Brecksville Ohio and York Pa. And as far as undesireables around, we have composite bats and a bunch of softball dads that aren't afraid to swing them.

I started a thread in the Pennsylvania section to get their opinion on this thread. I figured this is a broad net work that OFC covers so people would give us their honest views. After 405 views finally it appears there is an opinion from a person living there and this was posted.:D

Re: How bad is York PA?
I find this notion that York, Pa. is to be feared an outright ridiculous notion! Every city USA has it's bad areas and I'm sure York is no different. That being stated, I have family in York and have traveled there many times for youth level ****** tournaments and have never found anything about the area that I feel would warrent this accusation! Please be mindful of others home areas when stating such opinions!

It doesn't seem like too many visit the board from east of Harrisburg, so sorry if the WPa folks haven't been providing information!

Been there a couple times (a few years ago, back in my softball life, which I alternately miss and feel like I have emerged from an alternate mental state).

To get to the fields (at least from downtown), you drive through one of the poorer neighborhoods. You're in your car, but if that scares you, you'll be scared. It's not middle class suburbia. But I saw no problems at the fields.

And, yes, there's not much to do in the area, but I don't remember that much downtime at Eastern Nationals. I didn't think it was like full Nationals (where you get to spend days and days of money in Sterling or Columbus - lol).
