Pull out of Nationals?

As a practicing Prosecuting Attorney--be careful relying on "facts" from those DOJ reports....Toledo has experienced a "decrease" in crime because they have ordered the TPD basically become a "drive-in" to report anything less than rape and murder. B-in-law had his car broken into, and they would not come out and do a report. Called the insurance company, they sent out an adjuster and wrote him a check, so no report filed=one less crime with a report. I make no judgment on York, wish we would have qualified and we would have went. And I still remember OSU putting pressure on local media outlets to keep the South Campus Rapist quiet back in the mid-80's. Simple truth is, trouble can find you anywhere, and when it is your turn, deal with it as effectively as you can. There is a reason to carry all those 38 ounce bats made out of real metal in the vehicle...lol

We went to york 2 years ago for nationals and had no problems whatsoever. As for stuff to do, not much, but we have learned how to make our own fun at tournaments. We're there to play softball, anything else is extra!

When you drive through the areas that scare you... roll down your windows and turn up the CDs playing songs by Hanna Montana. You will be safe.

Be careful out there.
I understand that a team at Stingrays had their trailer broken and equipment stolen at their Hotel. We all know how dangerous Columbus is.

Crime is with us wherever we go. Be smart, be careful but don't pull out of York for this reason. Perhaps if the fields are lousy, the umpires incompetent, the parking is to expensive.... Etc.....

Good Luck.
