Irish ... thanks for the kudos but they all should go to Ricky not me. I am just like you ... someone who has learned so much from the site over the years, and just do my best to contribute back what I can. You are right that is a great example of how the site can benefit those who read it.

My advice is to attend these massive recruit camps at an early age (Freshman year, etc.) It exposes your daughter to the environment of pitching alongside other players, and also with coaches eyes on you. The older they get, the more selective the camps should be (Winter camps at target schools) or summer combines right before tournaments (Stingrays, Pennsbury, Legacy, etc) My DD attended the KSU camp as a Sophomore and did not get one email, she also did not stand out among the 80 pitchers there. Sure she might have been a few mph faster than the next girl, but she realized that a few was not enough. Reality checks come in many ways and for DD it was fortunately early enough for her.
...and butchy, thanks for being honest about your experience, and I'm glad you learned as a parent from your experience as well. Choose wisely.

My opinion: My Dd was in QDDS and QDDN and I "coached" it for two years. To answer some questions; we were never told to rush players through; MVP is selected by the QDDN personal, they observe attitude, how they interact with teammates, and of course how the are playing. I feel the emails instructing the girls what to do was a huge help; helped my DD. My opinion about the Euro Team: great experience but feels it does nothing to help with any college recruiting; My DD was asked and of course was excited and felt special at first but after looking into it wasn't worth the money to pay (would have rather to college clinics; a lot of them) and if you say no they just keep on moving on to the next until they have a team. Great if you have the money and want to go

was in cage and field. What I found as far as the mvp is that mostly pitchers were picked and I did not think it was right that there were girls that got picked more than once for mvp when there were several talented girls overlooked.
