The highest speed that my daughter has ever hit while on the gun is 59 mph - which is what we list on any profile that she filled out. ?This was 2 years ago when she was 15. I think that this is a little bit of a blessing in disguise. ?While it's not 60 I would think that peolple assume you're telling the truth if you put 59.

my dd attended the kent state showcase only. she went last year too, we like it and feel she has benefitted from the showcase. she has received emails from coaches who watched her this past weekend and several have expressed their intent to watch her this summer and continue to keep in touch. she is a junior , so how much they can say now i don't know, i do know when she is a senior they will be able to talk more about recuiting. she also sent out over 100 emails letting them know she would be there and did a skills video, profile and responded to all the coaches (40)who have emailed her. i feel the kent state showcase and the QDSN are great opportunities for girls who want to show their skills but you also have to get your name out there to the coaches. as far as the pitching goes, it's winter, how many are pitching that many pitches right now, wait until the 1st of july i am sure they will be hitting 60 consistenly.

Cage MVP, is the best player in the cage at that paticular time.
They have a person next to each cage who makes this distiction.

Yes, it is off live pitching. It is based on batting. You have to pretty much bat 1000 to get the award as the batters were pretty strong this year. In addition, they look at how strong each hit was.

Oops, there is also a Cage MVP pitcher. It is awarded based on their pitching performance.

There was also an all tournament team that was selected just before the end of the final
games and cage sessions on Sunday. ?Two pitchers were selected along with three outfielders, four infielders and a catcher. ?

I'd also like to add that my daughter and I both thought that the mini profiles were
a little overstated. ?We chose not to send Kirt her information, because we thought the guns low balled speeds last year. ?We also knew that submitting fastball speeds was
silly when the best pitchers don't throw fastballs in games. ?My daughter might have thrown 10 in the entire weekend, and she wouldn't have thrown those if the catcher hadn't struggled catching the rise and drop curve. ?The importance of a good catcher can't be over stated when you are talking about how a pitcher looks in game situations.
Catchers that haven't seen speed and movement working together can't really be expected to handle it seamlessly. ?The pitchers who stuck to what they do best performed rather well, and the ones that threw fastballs got pounded. ?

Overall, ?I'd say the showcase was as advertized. ?There were tons of coaches, and lots of recruiting going on. ?As one of the lucky ones who was still there when the last pitch was thrown I saw several coaches still talking to unsigned seniors. ?

There were MVP's for each game played that weekend, they picked a pitcher and a position player and also cage MVP's for a pitcher and hitter, and then there were 1st Team selections , you can see them all at the kfastpitch.com website. My DD attended but, she really didn't care for the cages she felt like everyone waited to long to get in so you just sat there. She loved the game's and felt they were more productive. In the cage's if you hit the ball fair you came out of the cage right away. It might of went a little better had they got maybe 6 or so balls thrown to them for each entry into the cage and allowed more time for the cages. Just a thought.... My DD is a senior so that will be her last QDSN. Kirt does a great job as long as the athlete puts forth an effort to contact coaches. We also attended the QDSS, which my DD really liked because it's outdoors and ran similar to a tournament. Both are ran by Kirt and he does a phenomenal job. If you want your DD to the next level make sure to attend but you do have work to do just don't think showing up is enough. Write Write Write and bring your your best game. Good Luck in your college searches

Kirt's QDSN event is everything it's advertised as, of course you have to get the word out but the venue is there... As a first time out of staters we were truely impressed with the quantity of college coaches at this showcase, where else in the midwest could you see that many coaches, in the winter, under one roof...

CDMX5- My daughter has gotten more than half a dozen "interested" e-mails since the showcase, a couple out of the blue. I know this isn't the norm but a JC actually made an offer after her first event... You need to get the word out and have the venue for your daughters to show their ability, QDSN offers that...

Yes, I also noticed a few profiles were a little overated, and not just in pitching speed...

Thanks Kirt, you did a great job... We'll be back.
