Any OFC'rs going to South Carolina Labor Day for this one? Last year was pretty packed with college coaches and there should be the same amount again. This years 14's tournament feature is pretty neat for them to get some exposure as well!

One of the Lasers Orange pitchers, Megan Flenniken, will be there. Sounds like it will be a great opportunity!

Bear, which one did you like better, North or South? We liked the field play of South vs indoor of North, but both are great and the tools given to the girls to market themselves is worth it's weight in gold.

I personally liked the outdoor venue of the South. Thought it gave the coaches a better perspective and being outside the conditions were real.

Last year they paired up with the university to do a showcase camp (similar to what they do with Kent State and the QDSN) - found the camps for the pitchers to be as valuable as the QDS, but depending on the timing it can be wearing.

My DD caught for Faith Tessmer from I believe Lebanon, the last two Queen of Diamonds and the Netherlands as well, where Faith got player of the tournament.. Our third DD will be attending her first one this time as a sophomore playing with her Senior sister..

Bear, you are correct about the clinic being wearing and that's why we shot for early times to try and get them a break before the game at 5:00

yes we know Faith and George very well. We were at the South last year and North this past year. North was very good, South was better as far as quanity of coaches. Team she was on last year at South could have been better, but always the luck of the draw.Camps were good. Bethany is doing the cup 2010. Good Luck

My shortstop Heather Hakola from the Heart of Ohio Heartbreakers will be there.
Plays shortstop for Marysville High School as well.

This will be the first year I won't be there. Gosh, I know pretty much everyone from Ohio going down, I'd love to make time and spring for the plane ticket and attend, but between the cost and a showcase tournament in Seattle that weekend, I seriously doubt whether I'll be there.

The Miami Valley Xpress 14U team will be playing in the 14U Tournament. I believe there will be 2 or 3 other Ohio teams playing. This is the first year for the 14U Tournament and we are very honored to have been invited.

Alissa Birkhimer of Lakewood High School and the Road Rounner Elite 18U team will be there.

Ohio Wave 14U (Rosinski) was also invited but we were unable to pull it off as a group this year and that is really the only way that they wanted to go. They were a young group this year so we are putting it at the top of our list for next season and making plans now.

Best of luck to the Ohio 14U teams that are heading down there this season. I know that they will represent well.

We enjoyed the QDSS better with the outdoor games.

I felt the KSU Clinic was ran a little better, but DD getting Tips for OF & Slapping from Leah O'Brien-Amico was a plus for Winthrop's Camp.
