We have strict guidelines that are in our rules and those who do not abide by them, will not coach again. The majority of our coaches have gone through the NYSCA coaching class, and all new coaches must attend and that has helped some see the light. You will always have one or so a year, but one out of 76 teams isn't too bad.
The board stands by this theory and some have not been asked back.
At the end of the day it is a rec league and the girls are there to learn the game. I always told my parents that even if the ball bounces to the plate and the ump calls it a strike, it's a strike and they are not to say a word. We have steps in place to have those discussions with our umpire committee which are ok, but again all the kids are learning, even the umps.
