Is everything good to go this weekend? Some parents heard Middletown was hit hard with ice and there is still numerous power outages.

Is everything good to go this weekend? Some parents heard Middletown was hit hard with ice and there is still numerous power outages.

We are good to go!!! Middletown was hit pretty good with the snow storm but the city has done a good job getting the streets cleaned off. All the main roads are clear. I haven't heard of any power outages here locally.

The only thing we are concerned about is a some potentially dangerous ice cycles hanging from the roof of the facility. We are looking at that today and tomorrow morning/afternoon. Hopefully we can take care of that issue. The only thing to say is if an area or door has caution tape around it, please advise your kids/parents to avoid that area. If the door ways has ice cycles hanging over them, we will use the doorway on the West end of the building. Hopefully it won't be an issue.

Congratulations to the Ohio Wave (blue) team. We hope everyone really enjoyed themselves at our tournament and we hope that our facility accommodated everyone. I know that all the girls seemed to have a REALLY good time. A few of the girls that I had spoken with said this was the BEST tournament they had ever been too. It makes us happy to hear comments like this especially from the girls. I know they all really liked the moon bouncer that our DJ brought with him. I really couldn't tell if the girls had more fun on the field or off...

Thank you to all the SDS parents for yet another job well done. The ALL NIGHT tournaments was designed for team bonding, letting the girls hang out, make the parents stay up all night, play some ball and HAVE A BLAST doing it.

Had alot of fun filling in on the vipers. Well run tourney, some issues with fill in umps but all and all a fun night.

DD really enjoyed playing in her first all night tournament, and a big Thanks to the Luna Chix for inviting her to play. Hats off to the Ohio Wave Blue, solid 12U team, one of the best bunting teams I've had the pleasure to watch, as well as their agression on the base paths. Hopefully the Mid Ohio Bombers can hook up for a couple of indoor scrimmages before the weather breaks. Nice Tournament SDS, well run! Thanks again Luna Chix!

some issues with fill in umps but all and all a fun night.

HUH????? Not sure what you are talking about here, we actually had 4 different umpires at this one. 3 of the 4 are certified umpires. These guys do a VERY GOOD job and I commend them on their work at our all nighters. These guys stay on the field all night EVERY GAME while some of the teams get a break and take a few naps. We have never had any complaints on any of them and they are the same guys that do ALL our indoor events. I was there all night and not once did someone question me about an umpire call.

Thank you to our umpires, you guys do a GREAT job. We could not pull these things off without you!!!!

Did have a funny question from one of the parents. One of our pitchers has a shoulder injury and can't pitch or swing the bat. We told her she can play but she can only bunt and run. One of the parents asked, "What's the deal with the kid that has a $300 bat and only bunts." She did bunt well though..even with two strikes on her.

The umps did a fine job. SDS did a great job of making this a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone (even us old farts who were way past our bed times). I'm looking forward to bringing my 16U group down there in a couple of weeks. Win, lose or draw, I'm sure they will have a blast!!! GOOD JOB SDS.

Another life tme memory for my DD,thank you SDS and all the teams who participated.
All nighters are a great way to bring your girls and parents together.And SDS is a great place to do it.
Thirteen straight hours for umpires and still a quality job.
Congratulations to the WAVE BLUE .They can beat you with the bunt or the long ball.

That was me coach, not knowing there was an injury, I should get credit noticing something had to be wrong with a kid with a $300 bat and bunting every at bat. I enjoyed watching your coaching style and your kids play, as I said at the tournament, you have a good team and the girls are very disciplined with the fundamentals of the game and very agressive group of kids at the plate and on the bases. Good tournament Ohio Wave Blue!
