I have a question about common practice with subs/pick-up players on the higher level/showcase teams. If you claim to be a "college showcase" team, and you are at a tournament where college coaches are in attendance, would you put in subs to play over your regular roster?
I'm not talking about sub pitchers or catchers, if your team has an injury and you need one of those positions, it is understandable to have members of your team sit while they play in those key positions.
Under what circumstances is this okay? Is it to get the win? To make the team as a whole look better? To show-off certain players?
I'm sure there are reasons for it, but as a parent I'm having a hard time understanding taking a player out of a game, one that paid fees and has attended every practice, to play a girl the coach just met.
