:( I do know that the 14u was a complete wash. I think the first games for Sat were finished by about 2:00 Sat afternoon, but all remaining games were cancelled early Sunday morning. Sitll waiting to here about refunds. We didn't play an inning.

First of all, let me thank all the coaches, players and families for their patience this past weekend.

As I indicated to each coach that I spoke to, I will be in touch with regards to alternative games, or refunds for our wash-out.

Let me say that in 15 years of running Slugger Fest, this is the first year that teams did not take the field. In the past we have been able to adjust schedules, shorten games and generally do what ever we had to to get games in for the teams and players. At one point - 11 years of running the tournament we had only lost 11 games, the following year we lost 33, but were well within the brackets. For 15 years and less than 100 games lost total between Slugger Fest I & II - with over 5,000 games played - our played/loss percentages have been pretty good!

I know that the Rumpke and RiverShore grounds crew (along with a few of the coaches at RiverShore) did everything humanly possible to get fields playable. Unfortunately, we can't battle Mother Nature (or the Almighty), nor can we control the rains.

It frustrates no one more than me for teams not to get to play! I, along with my staff work year long on Slugger Fest to make it the premier Midwest event for the teams.

Please be patient as I will be in touch with the coaches/managers to see what can be worked out with possibly re-scheduling or refunding some fees.

Patty
