May be a stupid question, but here goes..... I know walks are excluded from this call. My question is this....is the at bat that results in a walk also not included in the total at bat count?
I have an app that is dead on in ab, or etc, but the slugging percentage is much much higher than another fellow got with his calcs. It looks to me that the app does not count the at bat that ended in a walk, fielders choice etc, ending in a much higher slugging percentage than using total bases and total at bats (including the at bats for walks, fx, etc). To me it seems that if the walk doesn't count as a base and is excluded, the at bat should be also.
Which is correct?
A .694slugging percentage as opposed to a .498, but neither are too bad.
Thanks for any help on this.
