12u quarterfinals:

Spirit over C Ohio Stingrays big
Lady Lasers Silver over Elyria lightning big
tidal waves over power hirsch big

Ohio Ice 2
Pittsburgh power sheppard 2

(the ice ends up winning because the tiebreaker is most runners to third (we tied, then tiebreakers to second (tied) then tiebreakers to first (they had one more runner)





to send a team home like this is rediculous. why not play one more inning. both teams played awesome and the game was tied, and the object of the game IS to advance runners to home, not to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd base etc.


also, if you are not willing to play another inning, why not give each team a fair shot at winning by flipping a coin?

Seeing that those are the rules for the whole tournament, I would think a little concentration on getting runners to second and third would be a wise idea, if not always (lots easier to get runners home from second or third than first, obviously).

How is flipping a coin more fair than what they're using? At least the on-base tool measures an accomplishment. To send a team home on a coin-flip is much more ridiculous, to me.

And, regarding your other message, to say "they gave the Ice the win" sounds poor-sportish. Sounds like it was a very close game, but the Ice edged it out and earned their win.

WOW! What a great tournament this must have been.
I looked in several times myself just to get the scores.
There are a lot of fans interested in the outcome of ALL these tournaments.
I just hope these tournament directors take notice and take a few minutes of their time to post scores and outcome of their tournaments.

For those directors who already are doing so, keep up the good job.

Ice won over Lasers- 5-4, great game

Ice won over Spirit in a thrilling championship game! It went back to the books on a 3-3 tie. Two great teams played very hard.
