Not a bad swing
But
Is this swing above dominated by the upper body?
Does her rear arm slot before the hips have a chance to work?
Her upper body thrust was ahead of the hip thrust
Compare swing above to one below

The biggest diff here is the bottom is a straight rotational hitter. The top uses a more linear stride but with no separation. Hard to tell where the top pitch was going during contact but I like contact a little deeper in the box. Comparing the 2 forms is like comparing apples to oranges unless you stop both clips at contact. Thats where the rubber meets the road

Guys -- I have watched everything here, tried to understand. My conclusion is that I am eternally grateful my wife and I have found a great hitting coach for our dd, because there is absolutely no way I could do that for her. BTW, its Glenn McCoy.

BTW, Glenn told dd and I a story about a high school player who hit .400, but had terrible form but had fantastic eye-hand coordination. No power, but always put the ball in play. The moral -- no college coach would touch her because of her batting style.

These videos and comments are just what I see and how I narrate it.

Tim, (bouldersdad), Hitter, Lenski, Hitter23, and all the others might view it abit different and see and use different cues.
Its all good!!! :D

I just post these for review and comment.

I like how her arms straighten out after contact

I like how she really drives her back hip through hard enough to get her back foot to leave the ground.

Her back foot like that has to be hard on her knee joint.

Watch how the biggest and strongest muscle (the thigh muscle) is no longer evolved in putting power to the hit. Her lower half of the body stops before her bat even gets into the hitting zone. Look how long, time wise, the bottom half is stopped during the second half of the swing.

This girl has a wicked swing. She has great bat lag.
She really loads her back leg
She has a really tight hand path. Want to work some of that into my daughters swing.

Look at her separation and her core coil........ Then look at her locked knee at contact....... fantastic

I think a video of just about any Gator bomber would be highly interesting to watch.

BD. No Doubt.

Not sure about her bat lag on the gators player though. Looked huried to me due to hips driving the swing instead of front elbow. Lead with left elbow = more bat lag(time). Lead with hips = less bat lag. Both = great swings and instructurs will argue chicken and egg, but lead with elbow gives more lag time(more decision time) then lead with hips as hands have to hurry and when hands hurry, you can't adjust.

JMHO.

Hurried?? Great seperation, connected, maintained box at contact, great extention, awesome attack position, and bat lag galore. Nothing was hurried....this young lady has temendous bat SPEED. Big difference.

funny story i recall about the gators -- 2-3 years ago i started watching them and fell in love with swing of Francesia Enia (sp ??) i think she might have graduated last year. She looked super at the plate in the regular season and thru most of the NCAA regionals BUT they make it to the final 8 or so and she starts swinging from the heels and trying to kill stuff and her mechanics totally 100% broke down. I was bragging on her and told my dd to come watch her and she looked awful. MD

Saw her last summer playing against the Racers. I don't remember her getting a hit. Think she struck out everytime.
