Can anyone recommend a service where coaches can send one message to team parents via text message to notify them in a single blast for short notice change in plans? Thanks

Make groups on your phone, I am able to send 10 at a time and then forward to the next group. 2 groups should handle all the parents

Our team uses onecallnow.com. The coach can call it and record a message and it calls all of the phone numbers on the call list immediately. It says on our team's financial sheet that the cost is $59.95.

We use One Call Now. Unlimited calling throughout season. We only paid about 40.00. Each player has about 3 phone numbers it calls....both parents, plus player and all coachs. Great service over the last couple of years.

Cheaper to just set up a group text message and email system on your own phone as long as the group has the technology. One call now is good, we use it at work, but I prefer getting a text message, that way there is something written down and people can use it as a reference if there are changes. Plus, most girls have their own phone and are quite savvy! Maybe your daughter could show you? Just a thought! They always know how to do those little tricks first!!

Like a few others said, just set up a group in your contacts and send it to the group. It takes about 5 seconds to send a text to everyone.

Hornet - Set up a Twitter account for the team and have all the parents join. At that point you just "tweet" a message and it comes to all their enabled phones - I know the very thought of becoming a seriel "tweeter" scares us...but it really is an easy thing to do. Here is our (very simple) page in case you want to check it out

We switched to www.call-em-all.com for the Hawks - we get 300 phone numbers, unlimited calls for $65 a month... great deal, very nice service ... cheaper than callemall.

The assumption is that people have the ability to receive texts. Many can't. I'll stick with OneCallNow to handle home phones, etc.

Ha Ha. Apparently I don't know how to use my Blackberry. Got some help and figured out how to set up contact groups and it works perfectly AT NO EXTRA COST!

Send out a test and got a bunch of replies instantly so we're good to go. Thanks for the help!

When I had a Blackberry, I could make my group as large as I wanted and only had to send one text. Now that I ruined it and have a more basic phone, like eagleone I can only text 10 people at a time and have to forward. Why is that? Why wouldn't they make each phone so that you can put unlimited people in a group? How does it save them any money to limit the group to 10? That's really annoying.

same here with the Blackberry ease and applicability to simplify my life. It rocks the group lists and now saves us the cash over the one call systems. Is quicker than the one call systems too.

It doesn't save THEM money... it cause you to use more texts so they can make more money.

But I have unlimited texting, so them limiting me to 10 in a group is doing nothing but making me mad at Verizon and LG. My next phone will not be an LG simply because of this.
