Too Quiet in the GWOC

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Some more thoughts. I think this year Butler and Greenville match up will be tough. Butler has some talented pitching if they can get better overall in hitting and defense this will be a very interesting game because i don't think Greenville has a ton of hitting because last year they had a tough time early and midway through the season getting runs across but they did get better as the season went on. I think butler is losing to much hitting with 2 seniors leaving they were two of there top 4 hitters so it could be tough for them too get enough runs next year. I was impressed with Piqua last year with there small ball they were very tough on the defense last year. If they can find replacement for there catcher they will be very solid team and will be very competitive for that second spot in the north. I think Lebanon just having Krupa behind the plate is such a game changer that Lebanon will not be finishing second to last. I was actually very impressed with xenia’s hitting last year they may not finish last in the south this year. I think Centerville will have a tough time beating out Wayne this year because Wayne has so much coming back. The stats may not back it up all the way but I think they were the best hitting team we had seen the whole year. They have most of there key pieces back and will be able to put up a lot of runs on teams. I seen it first hand last year Wayne just kill the ball off Jess last year. If Northmont doesn't come full strength and with good defense. Wayne will get 6 more runs on us. I think with the year of experience could really help Centerville and put them over Wayne and be able to hit Wayne’s pitching but can they keep Wayne off the scoreboard. I think the difference for Northmont this year is that we will be able to crush the ball also with good pitching and defense. I think this year this year will probably one of the most competitive years coming up I’ve seen. A lot of good teams that if things fall right can really make some noise this year. I think we will know more about these teams when winter ball comes. Maybe I will watch a few games at Sinclair this year.

Jerrica Krupa is not back for Lebanon. She moved back to Indiana. Also, Xenia will be a good team as well, i just don't see them having the pitching and defense to put teams away.

If I am not mistaken, Northmont did not lose to anyone in the South last year. As a matter of fact, Wayne was the only team in the GWOC to beat the Bolts last year. Greenville beat the Bolts 1-0 in 16 innings, but they were not a GWOC member last year.
Are the Bolts not being looked upon as a team to be that good this year? Sounds to me like everyone in the South must be better than the Bolts, and Wayne and Greenville are obviously looked upon as being better.
I just hope the Bolts can compete with all these great teams next year.

The game between the Bolts and the Hawks last year was decided by a passed ball, the teams were pretty evenly matched and you could see a return of that same situation this coming season.
South:
Fairborns success or failure will depend on senoritis and injuries to their starting 9, Wayne is always tough just like the burg, we seem to play Wayne well and step on our feet against the Burg.Lebanon is always a threat, over look them even on a rebuilding year and you could be wondering what hit you, WC will come into the season with a chip on their shoulder and have something to prove being the new kid on the block, look for them and Springboro to really bang it out
North:
Greenville diddnt really blow anyone away last season , there were a ton of 1 or 2 run games, and not knowing their pitching this season the North may not be as heavily dominated by Greenville. Butler may just be the top team in the north.Troy will spend the season trying to find its self, First year coach Scott Herman will have to focus on offense and defense where some schools may have one but not the other.
Central:
The central will be a dog fight as usual, probably coming down between Wayne and Northmont, the biggest factor against Wayne is that they will play most of their season on the road, seeing as how their field is being revamped. They will have to bring alot of intensity each and every game being the away team all the time.

There is a ton of talent in this conference and it will be fun to see how it all unfolds.

Wow, that is a huge loss for Lebanon. That girl could play.

I agree....but we all know Lebanon is not going to roll over.......again I say Kudos to the summer programs for creating such diversity in GWOC play.......it is so much fun to see these young ladies develop into the players they have....so many signing to play beyond HS and such parity throughout the Conference.

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

It would be interesting to see the GWOC senior girls who will be playing at the next level, get some recognition. I know Brittany Duncan, Sara Marrs and our own Megan Pearson have already committed...GWOC ought to put them on the GWOCSports.com website or something....and I am sure there are quite a few more playing in college that I haven't heard.....

Congratulations to courtny and others that have made there college decisions there is a couple from wayne that will verbal soon and sign in april. your right about the amount of good prospects in the gwoc we at wayne will have 3-2011 3-2012 and probably 1 or 2 in 2013 very good stretch for one district.

As far as any predictions on the upcoming gwoc it's to close to call there's good pitching, hitting, defense everywhere and you better be on your game each and every night. My theory is be the best hitting team in the gwoc and you got a chance to go far in the gwoc and state tournament.

The GWOC has had a very nice run of talent and I have read of the players that are gone. But who are the stars of the GWOC for this year?
