How 'bout a Bart statement before a Bear statement?

Personally, I hate the term "Mission Statement". It's a bunch of cliche's strung together to make the people want to use your organization. After a while, they all sound the same - that is: They all sound like BS... (And this is coming from someone who helped author my company's Mission Statement.)

If you're looking for a place where a team lists the important stuff, i.e. Showcase? Instructional? Competitive? Travel Far vs. Not So Much? Costs?, etc..., that's a good idea.

The most appropriate place would be in the first post of your tryout thread.

I agree, and I'm someone who has written and updated a mission statement for travel ball. I'd have to go back and look at what I wrote several years ago to see what I think of it, but I hope it's short and to the point. Like you said, the specifics are what are probably most important, and those are probably in a different document. I suppose having a mission statement in writing does force an organization to return to its principles in times of uncertainty, so it is a good thing to have.
